We loved it so much we came back the next night for dinner again! Even just ordering a burger, every bite was fabulous. It came with what was probably the best Caesar salad I ever had. I also loved the ambience - cozy and elegant at the same time. The seafood fettucine was also outstanding. If we are ever in... More

This is my second time at the library lounge in the Hume hotel . Once again the food was awesome . I had the steak sandwich and the steak was cooked perfectly. My partner had mussels and he thoroughly enjoyed them . I was fighting a cold and I asked our server for a suggestion and the hot run drink... More

Oh my goodness if you like brusselsprouts at all then you need to come here. The chili lime Brussels sprouts were so so good. My friend and I are going to just come and order a serving each next time. We split one as an appy and it was really big. The salad was also a great portion size and... More

delicious varied menu. Try the steak bites for an appy. I ordered two! Ceasers are the best and the main entrees were absolutely delicious. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The ambiance of this place will make you want to stay all night. Great service as well.

One of my favourite spots. Great food and atmosphere. The service is probably the best I've seen in Nelson.

Loved the unique setup of this bar, which has three levels. Fair pricing, nice staff. A good place to relax and have a drink.

Thanks for coming in - it sounds as though you may have been sitting in Mike's Place which is our three level pub upstairs from the Library Lounge. Same menu just a different atmosphere. We are glad to hear you enjoyed yourself here at the Hume Hotel & Spa. More

We left it until the last of several nights, staying at the historic Hume Hotel, to dine at its signature restaurant, The Library. It has a special atmosphere in a heritage building. The walls are decorated with bookshelves containing old leather bound books, and the ceiling is lined with fabric in a manner that reminds me of an old theatre. Add... More

Amazing atmosphere - especially in winter! Loved the period decor and the feel of the whole building. The food however was not from the late 1890's. From pasta to traditional pub fare everything was fantastic and when appropriate it was decadent! We'll be back for sure.

Good food with a very couples oriented, quiet atmosphere. Very cool, restored old setting and good service.

This is a wonderful place to come for quiet dinner or drinks. It's kid free so the atmosphere is cosy and intimate. I've been with friends and with my husband. Great food and service.

Description
The Hume Hotel has three different food outlets to eat in that offer the same menu and a vast array of food. A family restaurant called the General Store, an intimate fireside lounge featuring live jazz called the Library Lounge or a lively, old English-style bar called Mike's Place Pub. We cook up amazing steaks, pastas, seafood, the '100 Mile Burger', sandwiches, salads and homemade desserts. There is a full Gluten-Free menu available. We are also known for a legendary Sunday Brunch that goes from 11am - 2pm every Sunday. We are popular for our consistency, generous portions, food quality and reasonable prices all to be enjoyed in a character atmosphere that was built in 1898. There is no place like the Hume.
