As someone who isn't extremely into gluten free quinoa vegan etc. food, I didn't find much on the menu that was right up my alley. The soup I did settle on was tasty and fresh, but I found it pretty costly for the portion size, though no doubt the ingredients were all very special. The place was busy, though, and... More

Went in for a juice and a breakfast sandwich. Just plain good, fresh ingredients, simple preparation. It was great, as was the service. Thank you.

Kootenay Bakery Cafe has a great selection of baked goods and a nice variety of other dishes for lunch. It's not just sandwiches but also includes rice bowls packed with healthy choices. It's really busy at lunch during the summer. Order at the counter, find a table, and enjoy.

We picked up items for dinner on two nights out of our week in Nelson. I have a lot of food intolerances and the pies from Kootenay Bakery were tasty and produced no nasty side-effects, so a definite winner for me.

I love this bakery because it always a wide selection of pastries to satisfy all tastes. The staff is helpful and friendly. I've never had any of the lunch options, but the food looks delicious.

Loved that we were so welcomed here even though we had two dogs with us. It's a busy place with many great healthy snacks meals and baked goods. Decor is not really anything. You don't need decor in a place filled with helpful friendly caring staff. They set out a water bowl for our dogs on the street cafe side... More

Delicious fresh baked items. I enjoyed their cinnamon bun and had to take one to go. Coffee was great tasting. Although there were no kids there, I saw highchairs a small play area. Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere, worth the stop!

We noticed that this busy cafe was frequented by the locals so we stopped in for soup and salad! The ginger miso yam soup was so tasty and my mom loved her leek and potato soup. The kale salad was amazing as was the quinoa salad. This bakery creates non-gluten food and spelt products as well as standard flour products.... More

Kootenay Bakery serves a number of breakfast and lunch items as well as fresh baked goods. The bakers breakfast is a hearty egg sandwich served on your choice of roll. Sprouts and other veggies are layered in, too. Try the local Antoinette's sauce for some extra flavour. This is great place to bring kids for a meal or just a... More
