The food was good but I encountered a very rude server. All I got was a rude response for asking for something that wasn’t on the menu anymore. This particular server came off as standoffish towards me the whole time I kept wondering what I did wrong & it honestly just ruined my whole day. Do better whatever your name was.

Good spot to hear live music

We came here 2 nights in a row to get a drink and hear some live music. The first night was open Mic night, I would say 3/4 of the acts were ok. The MC kept it moving along. The 2nd night was a local band that played great music to dance too and everyone was dancing and having a great time. Decent beer selection, lacking in the wine selection which is why I rated it a 4. Service was attentive, but when it was busy the 2nd night I had to find our waiter to get another drink. Fun spot if you want to dance and feel the local vibe.

Stopped her almost every day after the hills. A place where they know you after a visit or two and are always happy to see you again. Many great items on the menu but by far the best in my opinion are the Fish Tacos. I have these from Europe to the southern states, Finley's makes the best. Happy hour deals are to die for while you play a game of pool overlooking the river. Good people and great food, it what makes a great place.

Failed on so many levels

We're always looking for a news pot to go in Nelson and decided to try Finley's. We had a large group of 13 but keep in mind, we reserved a spot the day before so they knew what was coming. The restaurant itself is nice enough, kind of a neat setting with various levels of dining and nice views. Our server was outstanding and cannot be faulted for the many errors that would follow. The first misstep was a couple beers that were ordered that when they came out, were obviously wrong. Our server quickly replaced them though at no charge - so far, so good. After our orders were placed and what was a fairly long wait, we started to get our food - in various stages. again, we expected with 13 people, it'd take a bit longer but when half the table gets served and the other half waits, it gets awkward. So, finally one half of the table just started eating, which was a good thing because the other half was a good 10 minutes behind. We finally all; got our meal except for one, a simple pasta with pesto and chicken dish that didn't come until everybody else was finished their meals. Then, just as one of our party was finishing his burger, he couldn't figure out what was so hard and chewy in his last few bites, until he pulled a bread bag clip out of his mouth. When the manager came to bring the extremely late pasta dish, he was also informed of the bread clip. His apology for both instances wasn't really an apology at all but rather an awkward joke that left us all wondering what just happened. At the end of the day, the burger was free and the pasta was discounted 35 per cent. We felt bad for the poor server who had to deliver that news because she knew how poorly that came off. Bottom line the place wasn't that busy and if they can't handle a big party, just say so and we'll go elsewhere. The meals were meh anyway, nothing outstanding, although my martini was excellent. I'd skip Finley's, there are MUCH better options.

Not our best choice for lunch

Food was tasty - Lettuce Wrap, Steak Sandwich, Mushroon Burger, Burger with Brie - but arrived at table cool. Our issue was more with the service. Our waitress not very attentive, didn’t ask if we liked our dinner, disappeared after our meal delivered. Saw another table leave because waitress kept walking by without stopping with menus or taking a drink order. Disappointing lunch.

Barely edible brunch

We arrived for brunch right when it opened. Cold bacon, cold eggs benny, white as snow sausages, fruit that appeared to come from a can….all on a dark dance floor with no overhead lighting. Take a pass.

Watch for currency conversion rip off.

I got ripped off the server said the card machine was down and took $140US for a $126C tab and never came back. It seemed like a scam.

The owner likes to assault people for trying to leave their bar. I was a patron for over 10 years and then moved to another city. (it's always been known as the bar you go to after the good bars since its always a gong show) Came back for a visit and was put in a headlock by the owner himself, and then he had the nerve to call the police on ME! Which resulted in nothing obviously. Even his own employees confirmed with me that he was completely out of line. Do not go here, there are many other much better bars in nelson.

Been here before and ordered the same! Calamari and yam fries. Sooooo delicious. Enough for leftovers. Had a couple of beers at a very good price. Love it here.

Terrible Service, (possibly) Slow Kitchen.

A friend and I arrived just after 6PM, to find the bar mostly empty (we were later advised they were quite busy outside, but can't confirm if that was the case). We took a couple minutes to decide where to sit, during which time, none of the servers interacted or greeted us. We grabbed a table, and had to wait 5 minutes for someone to bring us menus while 3 servers all stood around the bar area. Finally someone brought menus, and we ordered waters and decided what to eat. We ordered a couple minutes later (about 6:15 at that point), deciding on Calamari and a Buttermilk Chicken Burger. A second server brought our waters, and a third brought utensils. We then waited. About 20 minutes later, we had noticed a few meals head out, but it was hardly a steady stream of food from the kitchen. As we had a deadline, when a server came to fill our water, we enquired how much longer to expect our food, and were advised at that point that they were busy outside. We continued to wait another 10 minutes, by which point maybe a half dozen meals had headed out from the kitchen. Another server stopped by asking what we had ordered. At that point, we told her that we had ordered calamari and a chicken burger, but did not have time to wait, and would be leaving.

I’ll never go back.

I’ll never go back. We were overcharged as a group of 4 25 dollars for breakfast. I quickly tapped for payment of our meals and saw the overcharges, I brought it to the waitresses attention she said there was nothing she could do about the overcharge until her manager came in later that afternoon. We were on the road and had a schedule to follow. I can’t believe with a Restaurant had no way to correct those overcharges. Really disgusting.

Went for dinner and drinks, beer was cold, boneless chicken wings and chicken wings were absolutely discussing, chicken burgers where average at best. Definitely do not recommend.

Great Food & Service

We ate off the breakfast menu, traditional breakfast and eggs benedict were excellent. Our server, Alex, was attentive, friendly and considerate. Will be visiting again in the future.
