Stopped in for a late lunch. Great atmosphere [old church] and very warm staff. We each had Halibut and chips. The halibut pieces were huge by comparison to the average fish and chips shops. Fries were very good. Great service. Best in the town for...More

The whole family hated it! Just ate it and had to post how bad it actually was! It was bland, tasteless, no seasoning whatsoever! Had to mix ketchup with the tasteless tartar sauce to actually swallow the Panko crusted cod, no halibut, but the battered...More

Excellent halibut in panko crust with cole slaw & fries and tartar sauce! Good local beer to accompany dinner. One-piece fish dinner was plenty.

My favourite place when you want fish and chips. Battered, fried, no batter or grilled it is your choice. The chips are deliciously sinful. We originally got married here when the building was a church, now married 36 years come Summertime, it is a fun...More

The chips fill half the plate! So why not put some effort into making them good. Love everything else about this place but seriously - please improve your chips.

Simply the best fish and chips I have ever tasted. The menu is straight forward. Choose your fish, choose your coating, choose your sides. Then enjoy. The food is fresh and not greasy. Generous portions. Excellent beer on tap too!

We can grill the fish so it is gluten free. We also cook the fries in a separate deep fryer from the battered fish, so they are gluten free also. Owner

Bare Bones: an upscale fish and chip restaurant featuring west coast halibut, salmon, cod and prawns. Sides include hand-cut fries, caesar salad and coleslaw. Try your fish grilled or choose our famous beer batter or panco bread crumb coating. Always fresh and delicious! Look for our patio on Johnston.
