Wow. I love Bare Bones. The Building is incredible, comfortable, friendly atmosphete. The service is impeccable . The Fish and Chips are amazing. Traditional or Panko coating both are delicious, so are the French Fries. The coleslaw is fresh, light and crisp, flavorful not drenched with dressing. I like the choices you are offered. Very reasonable priced. Definitely worth the... More

Excellent halibut in panko crust with cole slaw & fries and tartar sauce! Good local beer to accompany dinner. One-piece fish dinner was plenty.

My favourite place when you want fish and chips. Battered, fried, no batter or grilled it is your choice. The chips are deliciously sinful. We originally got married here when the building was a church, now married 36 years come Summertime, it is a fun anniversary dinner destination for us.

The chips fill half the plate! So why not put some effort into making them good. Love everything else about this place but seriously - please improve your chips.

Simply the best fish and chips I have ever tasted. The menu is straight forward. Choose your fish, choose your coating, choose your sides. Then enjoy. The food is fresh and not greasy. Generous portions. Excellent beer on tap too!

Fish & Chips. Such a simple sounding dish yet so often bungled. It seems that more often than not, the breading is too thick or the chips are soggy, maybe the whole dish is overly greasy, or the fish itself isn't fresh. Yep, there are so many things that can go wrong, but when everything comes together it's one of... More

After reading all the glowing reviews for this place, I was looking forward to some amazing fish n' chips. Being from Victoria and having lived and commercial fished in many places on Vancouver Island and the lower mainland, I've had the good fortune of enjoying fish n' chips at many west coast establishments. I've also enjoyed many outstanding seafood meals... More
