Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The lobster bisque, steaks, and seafood were all expertly prepared to our liking. The service was attentive and on point. Unfortunately dessert service was slow so we had to cancel that portion of our meal.

Little place that you would never know was there unless you've heard of it before or Google it. It's busy with a 30 minute wait for a table. Service was so-so with my partner's meal forgotten altogether, but came quickly enough once the waiter realized...it. Food was good and tasty but we agreed that it wasn't anything we would have to go back for. Definitely worth a try if you're in the neighbourhood.More

Booked online for indoor seating but had to seat on patio. Waitress indicated sometimes happens with system. Although there were heaters, we had to keep coats on, like many others. A customer walked into a flame heater that just about landed on our rocky table...we balanced with one foot. Our burgers and fries were served fast and were quite tasty. Was not asked if we wanted more beer? Min gratuity 18%… comfortably expected from a restaurant that can hit all bases, but not this one yet. Over all, like concept of restaurant and food, but small details missing and place was a little crowded for space and needs some TLC to be rated higher than 7.5.More

Who thought we could great a great meal and service near the Vancouver airport in a commercial part of town? This charming place had the decor, drinks, service, and food that rivals a big city eatery. We shared a pizza and had house drinks. Excellent...way to spend a pre-travel evening.More

We try to come here for whenever visiting Richmond/Vancouver. Breakfast food is great. First time I’ve ever had eggs in purgatory and I always get it when we visit. Croissants are very delicious as well. We’ve yet to try non-breakfast items but could imagine they...are good as well.More

My wife and I each had soup. I had Wild Mushroom and she had French Onion. Both were quite good and tasty. We then had sandwiches. My wife had a burger with mushrooms, cheese and onions and fries and I had a salmon burger with...a side salad. Both were nice sized portions, brioche buns, and fresh ingredients. We shared for dessert "Killing me Softly." Chocolate lava cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Beautifully presented and extremely yummy.More

We stayed in Richmond the night before flying home from our vacation in Whistler/Vancouver and took a chance on this restaurant. It was one of the best meals we had on our vacation. If you’re staying in the Richmond area and looking for someplace casual...but with upscale but accessible food, this is a great spot. Our very picky 16 year old even enjoyed it. We picked appetizers that he would like—steak bites and calamari. Not terribly creative, but very fresh and great for what they were. My husband had the duck and I had the lobster gnocchi, and both were outstanding. The lobster gnocchi had as whole roasted lobster tale on top, instead of just bits of lobster in it, so each bite had lobster and a bit of shrimp. We ended with the lava cake, which was likewise delish. Should also note that we had great service and the restaurant itself has a fun vibe with all kinds of vintage memorabilia, starting with the Austin Healy parked in the front, old glass coke bottles in wooden crates, turntables, and records. It was overall just a fun, relaxing way to end our trip.More

Small, crowded and eccentric place near hotels at Vancouver airport. Smallish menu with typical brunch items. Large portions. Very tasty burgers and salads.

The Hampton Inn staff recommended The Story Cafe for dinner. The short walk from the hotel did not disappoint. My husband The Great Canadian Burger and was impressed by how well it was cooked and how delicious it was. The staff was knowledgeable about the...menu and knew how to respond to multiple food allergies. Thank you for a great meal.More

On a layover to fly to Europe tomorrow and staying in a nearby hotel. Walked over after checking in and glad we did. I had the grilled asparagus starter and the seafood linguini. Both were above expectation and met my needs well. My husband is...a hamburger hound, seeking them out wherever we go. He was not disappointed by the Canadian burger. He was a bit concerned about the ‘maple’ aioli but it was subtle enough to not bother him. We are bad Canadians as we both do not enjoy Maple flavour much at all. Patio was a bit warm for me, however, inside was all booked up. Wait staff were attentive and friendly. Seems to have a local following of folks with dogs, kids and friends from the nearby new housing going up. Location is noisy due to being both under the YVR flight path and the Skytrain transit. however, wasn’t a deal breaker. We might well stop in again for breakfast on our way through in 3 weeks!More
