Evening out with friends. This is a busy and popular pub and restaurant so need to book. Good service. Food is decent upper end pub food with some good specials. Had ham hock terrine and cock and bull. Both were tasty and as described. Mains come served with chips which are great in a sharing bowl and vegetables to share.... More

Servers are friendly and efficient. Full service bar. Nice homey decor. Great food! Delicious and the portions are a generous size. I had the lamb keptlecic(sp?) and my husband had the lamb henry. They both are signature dishes were delicious. Portions were huge and we took home doggie bags. Would definitely go back when in the area.

This has got to be one of the best Sunday dinner's I've had for years. Roast beef dinner was a huge delight, beef was very tender, great roast potatoes served with plenty of veg. Very nicely preseted and hot. Nothing was too much trouble for the ladies who served us, they even went one step further and made neice mashed... More

I've been to the star inn on a few occasions and will definitely visiting more often, I love the traditional 'real pub' feel there. The staff are really lovely, and always make you feel welcome. The homemade food is hearty and there is always plenty of it. I can't say I have ever had a bad meal here and would... More

This pub took me way back in time. It was clean and tidy but styled how I remember all pubs back in the early 80's when I first started drinking. That's a reflection, not a criticism, I like contemporary personally but my husband loved the reminiscent styling. The menu was traditional gammon, steak, ploughmans etc which delighted my friend... with... More

Fantastic food and service. So much so that I quickly returned and found it repeated my first experience - excellent. Fully accessible with a designated disabled toilet. Good choice of food available.

A friendly welcoming reception from the staff, service was attentive without being pushy. As the restaurant was fully booked we ate in the bar- lounge area, which although fairly busy was comfortable quiet and relaxed. An excellent selection of beers and wines to accompany a varied and interesting menu selection including an outstanding "specials" board. The food arrived hot and... More
