Having arrived in Auckland by Cruise ship an Excursion took us to Davenport and having looked around this lovely seaside town we decided to try the The Patriot. It was a nice sunny day so we decided to sit on the tables at the front of the Restaurant.
Looking at the drinks menu, the beer selection was dificult as there were 14 different varieties. I chose the Max Gold which was really good. My wife had an excelent white wine. We decided to have the NewZealand Green Mussels in white wine and garlic. We were so surprised of the taste, the sauce was the best I have tasted.

Located on the main drag of Devenport this restaurant has classic pub grub. We had the fish and chips and half ribs and they did not disappoint. Freshly cooked. Huge serves. Friendly staff. Nice vibe. Plenty of seating choices. Highly recommend for a great lunch

Some great beers on tap and always enjoy the atmosphere here. Lately the food has gone down hill. First meal arrived then had to wait 20mins for the next ones. Nachos good but brisket was dry and ribs, while large, lacked flavour and seasoning. Need to get back to the basics.

Ordered two diet cokes as I was drinking mine with my sunglasses on I suddenly noticed lipstick on the glass. In these times it is very worrying to get a dirty glass. They knocked the price of the cokes off but who cares about that, disgusting.
When the food eventually came I had vegetarian sausages with watery potatoes, burnt leeks and sour tasting tomato sauce the other person tasteless fish.

My work mate and I went to The Patirot on Devonport last night, waited over an hour for meals that wasn't worth the wait. Chips was soggy and plain. Schnitzel was tough and hard to cut with a normal knife.
I wouldn't return anytime soon!

We were in Devenport for the day and stopped in at the Patriot for lunch. The fish on offer was Tarakihi. As we had this fish in our travels before and loved it, we chose the crumbed fish.
Unfortunately the fish had a foul smell and we could not eat it.
The lady that served was was excellent, so she deserves 5 stars ⭐️….the food was not great ☹️

Classic pub food, done pretty well. I went for the steak and Guinness pie. The pasty was a bit doughy on the bottom but the flavour of the filling was good. Overall a nice evening was a bit noisy for a business dinner but that was expected. From what we saw portion sizes were variable between tables (ours were huge)

My mid 20’s daughter took my teen son there for dinner and was asked to leave because she was not my son’s parent or guardian. Beyond rude and disappointing behaviour from the staff. We live locally and do not recommend the place.

Stoped in for a late lunch after the segway tour, recommended by Pauline who runs the segway tours. Perfect little historical hotel, nicely renovated. Had seafood chowder with a local cider on tap. Delicious!

Our favorite pub in Devonport!!! So happy to see familiar faces who have became friends! Special thanks to Matt, (outstanding manager), Hanna, Harrison, Drew, Joe and Joe. Wonderful to see the locals again, too. Very clean, excellent pub selections and just the best!

After climbing up Mount Victoria it was lovely to jump in for a refresher. Friendly service and as I know an excellent thirst quencher on walking down on a hot day. Classic old fashioned pub, we should have more if them.
