The space is interesting ..... It is a pity the coffee is not better as there is plenty of completion in Devonport.

I got the Java House sandwich, which is a club sandwich made with cold toast, fake slice cheese, cheap tasteless cold bacon and a side of "Chips" which meant potato chips, not hot chips. Partner had a burger which was OK. Milkshake was way over flavored and was half foam? Service was friendly.

Stopped for a much needed coffee break while on a day trip to Devonport.Coffee and cakes great and service very pleasant and welcoming , obviously appreciative of our patronage.A very quaint and quiet spot in a mall. The old bakers ovens add to the charm of the place. A special little spot which we will remember long after our trip has... More

Went to this cafe for lunch after a nice hike up North Head. It was kind of tucked away from the main street, but had an interesting but nice dining area inside this covered alley. The cafe itself was small, but quaint. You had to order at the cafe counter, which is pretty standard for a cafe, but due to... More

After arriving in Auckland on Voyager of the Seas my husband & I took the ferry across to Devonport. Java House certainly is a hidden gem tucked away in an arcade away from the main tourist crush. It was a very hot & humid day and I enjoyed the best iced coffee ever!! We loved the setting in a courtyard.

The Coffee here is Hot but Tasteless - the Breakfast was Awful and so dry... I told the person behind the counter that I couldn't eat the food as it was so dried up.... she said sorry. But I was still charged full price. I have no problem paying for food if its good...!!! but I hate paying for bad... More

Tucked away in a mall alley, this small café is a nice place to grab lunch on a low budget. Seating is up off the walk way and near several shops. The interaction with staff is limited but friendly.
