Freshly prepared food at an affordable price. Great atmosphere and view of the sea. Very laid back and relaxing. Enjoyed the sound of the seagulls.

We always take our visitors to Kalky's - you get a very reasonable seafood meal with a great atmosphere. The servers are an institution in themselves. Situated along the pier of Kalk Bay, it is a great experience.

We went for a late afternoon meal. We ordered our meal, and wanting to taste the peri peri prawns, I ordered 6, was told that I should be more economical to order 8. When the meal arrived there were 10 prawns. The food was really tasty, except for the chips which were not as good as the rest of the... More

Over the Dec holidays I had the opportunity to pop in at Kalky's with friends of ours. What a nice little hole in the wall place with rich diversity and great seafood.

Where does one start? This is an awesome, marvellous 'cheap' but oh so great harbour restaurant. It's fast and furious, with table turnover very high, please don't sit around after you've finished, the eyes lol Eat anything you want on the menu, please do, but for me, the tourist, Snoek, oh my gosh what a fantastic fish. On my 2nd... More

Had the best piece of fish for a long time. Grilled Cob, two large pieces at a fraction of the price of its much more expensive neighbours, Harbour House et al.... Grilled Calamari was also fantastic. A really really good meal as long as you are happy to sit at an unpretentious inside outside ordinary restaurant. Wonderful.

I have a friend who swears by this place, saying it gives good value for money, larger seafood platters than other places for less money. By contrast, I had gyppo guts both times I ate there. People go there for the distinct vibe. It is next to the quay on Kalk Bay harbour which is a working harbour, so you... More

You have not experienced Kalk Bay if you have not gone to Kalky's. Rustic as it gets. Fish from the sea into batter onto plate. Always oily but we just dab it up with serviettes 😆 They surely have the best fish cakes in town. Love the way the vinegar and sauces are decanted in old juice bottles. Not fine... More
