Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We’ve been here a couple of times and it’s always delivered. This time it was even better than the last. Friendly service and delicious food.
We tried a couple of pastas - lamb ragu and mussels with chilli- both were delicious and moorish. Pizzas were crispy and delicious too.

On our return from a site meeting scheduled at lunch time we needed a light meal before driving home to Melbourne. Really delicious fresh mussels with nice chilli touch and a fresh pizza exactly met our needs. Friendly enthusiastic staff.

We stopped in Meeniyan on our way to The Prom and happened to stop just next to Trulli Pantry (think this is the same place.)
Lovely deli feel and plenty of outdoor space.
We had a raspberry sourdough doughnut, a couple of coffees and a Ham and Cheese Croissant.
Staff were pleasant and you are very likely to come across someone with a friendly doggy!

This restaurant serves great pizza, topped with cheese, tomato and freshly picked basil, however as much as that may sound appetising and seductive, the service and wait times sure weren't. We had to wait more than 50 minutes for our pizzas to arrive only for them to arrive lukewarm. The pizzas we were served were great, not the best pizzas I've ever had, but pretty close. Overmore, this fabulous venue and the high calibre of food served by its skilled array of chefs was let down by higher than-normal demand and a lack of staff. On another note, I would like to mention that attended Trulli on Easter Saturday and was shocked to see they were surcharging every payment by 15% a ritual that is only allowed to take place on a public holiday, something that Easter Saturday isn't. Overall I commend your fine work Trulli, I'd love to revisit you sometime soon (preferably post easter).

Walked in and was pleased with the ease of finding a table and staying warm, ambiance was top notch with toasty fires and fairy lights.
Although on separate phones we placed orders at the same time (what is happening to face to face service these days???) we were very disappointed with the fact that one main came out 20 minutes before the other two + entree. We wanted to ask what was going on but there were not enough staff around as well. No server interactions at all actually, before, during or after our meal - felt very impersonal even though they weren’t that busy.
Food was very tasty and probably would have raved about this place is we weren’t so disappointed with the service. Hopefully your experience is better than ours as the pizza and pasta truly was phenomenal.

Very disappointed at the direction this family favourite has taken. We’ve been going there for 7-8 years and due to Covid last year we were never in Meeniyan when they were open. The menu has changed dramatically and what was on there was unappealing. If we hadn’t paid the deposit we wouldn’t have stayed. At $45 for some cured meat on a board and a small bread it was ridiculous. The rest was ok. Our waiter was sort of rude when we questioned the menu saying we could go across the road but that wasn’t the point. It was our little bit of Carlton in Meeniyan but no longer.

Friends that live in Leongatha, took us out for dinner to this truly, traditional Southern Italian style pizzeria. It was a very busy Saturday night and the place was packed and vibrant...lucky they had booked a table. A "Trulli",is an authentic woodfire pizza oven from the Apulia region of Italy. The menu and decor take you on an adventure back to the area. Our young waiter was friendly, efficient and helpful with menu choices. There was a good variety of beers and wines also. For starters, we shared Focaccia di Nonna and pane with olive oil, herbs and olives...yum. We all chose mains from the specials board, our friends having the pasta of the day,Carbonara. My husband chose the fish of the day and I ordered the chicken rolls with choice of 2 Contorni (side dishes)...roasted potatoes and fried mushrooms. You could also choose from salad and mixed, grilled vegetables. The food was magnificent and really tasty. Our friends stated that the Carbonara was the best they had ever eaten, not overly creamy or mushy. There was an array of sweets, however we were full and just had capuccinos, but our friends enjoyed their desserts. Of course, there were lots of wonderful pizzas on the menu too.Overall, we had a great night out and budget wise, it equated to about $50 per person.

More formal than Moos which is nearby but still welcoming and with great food, wine and service.
We had the 5 course degustation menu which was adapted very well for my dietary requirements. The selection was excellent- showing off a range of foods, styles and techniques.
James was great - being there when needed but never intruding.
The fourth course was a half and half pizza which was excellent and we left full but content.
The next day we enjoyed shopping in Trulli’s store on the other side of the road.

What a treat this was and so worth the 1/2 drive from Invert. The Italian degusation 5 course menu was delicious and each course was such a treat to taste and presentation was beautiful. A bottle of Italian wine to complement the meal and we left happy and well satisfied with excellent and friendly too. Thank you - this definitely was the highlight of our weekend stay in inverloch.

My wife and I dined at this restaurant for dinner with friends to celebrate a significant birthday.
We were warmly welcome and shown our seats, with staff being very friendly.
The menu was vast and all made from local produce. It was hard to make a choice, as was the wine list......lots to choose from.
I went with the gnocchi, which was well presented and just delicious, full of flavours as were all the other main meals. There was nothing left on any or our plates. But the highlight for me was sweets.......the tiramisu was to die for! I have had tiramisu in all parts of the world, including many occasions throughout Italy, but I can honestly say this was the best one I have ever had......just yum! I could have licked the plate!
The wine was lovely and I could not fault the evening. Well worth a visit.
A well presented and tasty meal by very friendly and courteous staff.
Highly recommend.

Brought by friends who have a beach house nearby. The best pizza I've had for a long time (we had the "Trulli"). Fresh, tasty, locally sourced ingredients (except the bizarrely imported Italia mineral water). Can't wait to go back.

This place used to be great , now it is in a canopy outside area . Place was dirty , used napkins on the floor table not cleaned . $34 for seafood pizza with hardly any seafood on it . Stuffed up our other pizza and gave it to another table , then our revised order came out mushrooms not cooked . Overall very poor will not return . What has happened

I'd heard about this restaurant via word of mouth but wasn't quite prepared. We were on a foodie road trip through South Gippsland and hung around in Meeniyan waiting for dinner. We sat down, were impressed that the menu was so authentic that it had an appendix at the rear to translate the Italian ingredients. We ordered a Margherita, a Fiorentina and the Pasta Vegetariana to share between the four of us. It's a mark of a great restaurant when the Margherita is that impressive - it beats Lygon Street. No, I'm not joking. The Fiorentina was delightfully truffly and the pasta was healthy and fresh. This was quite a find - we'll be back.

The pizza isn't cheap but it sure is good. Thin crusts with a good variety to choose from. The Tarwin is made with local blue cheese and is excellent but rich and so is best shared.

We we just driving through Meeniyan on the way to a pizzeria we knew well on Philip Isalnd, but we passed this one and thought we would give it a try. And glad we were that we did. The taste of the pizzas was exceptional! Also would recommend the ice coffee gelato. The staff seemed a little distracted, it was the end of the day, but nothing detracted from the fiest of flavours in the pizzas! We highly recommend it!
