A dozen family members gathered for a birthday dinner on Australia and really enjoyed the experience. The staff were warm, friendly and accommodating, especially Brett. Nice cool breezes overlooking the marina. Extensive and varied menu, well-priced with lots of options from steaks, seafood, pizza, schnitzels, some tasty salad options and Australia Day specials. Affordable cocktails too! Recommend as a casual dining option or Sunday session.

Went to Kawana Pub for a friends birthday, got served by a lady named Vicky. She was very sweet and informed us on specials, meal deals, and drink prices. made us feel very comfortable and welcome :). An amazing experience honestly and I recommend to anyone local or in the area. :)

Food was amazing, we left our table for 10 minutes to find our buzzer going off and Brett (staff) offering well more like telling us he will grab our food for us while we take a seat. It was good to receive good old customer service with a bit of harmless banter. Brett was a machine, was the only staff member visibly working clearing tables, cleaning and seating patrons with a smile on his dile and a spring in his step. Food was A+ Keep up the good work!

The pub has a very clean and tidy environment and a nice outlook. All the staff are very friendly. However, unfortunately we had a poor experience. We ordered nachos, parmigiana and a bowl of sweet potato wedges. We were told it was a 45 min wait (glad they warned us however it ended up being 65 mins). By the time the food arrived - It felt a little cold as though it has sat there for some time. The nachos, while the beef was flavoursome and cooked well, there was nowhere near enough for the amount of corn chips on the bowl- they forgot sour cream and we had to go back and ask. The parmi was quite small for the price and a little cold and soggy. Side chips were good (but cold) and the side salad was pleasant. Sweet potato wedges were nice but the aioli it came with appeared to be a bit off? It was very very sour and warm/sickening. As I said the staff very friendly and apologised for our wait time and the forgotten sour cream although didn’t offer anything to make the experience better - a free cola or something wouldn’t have gone astray. Oh well...

Hi SamLL54894and thank you for your feedback. Great to hear the staff looked after you but it is disappointing your meals were not up to our normal high standards and I do apologise. We were hit hard that day with the kitchen team experiencing 3 staff absent due to sickness and injury and try as we might were not able to get anyone else in to cover. This combined with the volume of people in that day blew out the wait times and in some cases consistancy. We have hired a new head chef who is actively working to improve all aspects of the kitchen and we can already see a difference. Once again I am sorry for your expereince and want you to know that is not is not the norm here. I hope we do see you again sometime to see what we can really do. Warm regards

We have been regulars here for years.Most of the staff know our food orders by heart and the bar staff know what wine we like. The place has the best vibe, right on the Marina. The food here is top notch and the staff are really friendly, especially Brett. He really goes out of his way with his super friendly super upbeat attitude. Taking photos for dining groups, helping people carry their trays and doing everything he can to help everyone in a truly genuine way. He should be managing the place.

My wife and I have been regular customers of the Kawana Hotel since it opened. It is a great venue and we have had many family celebrations there over the years. We have always found the food there good. When we attended the hotel on the 26/03/2022 we were told by staff that we could only order and pay for our meals via the QR code on the table. There were very few hard copy menus available and in any case you couldn't order from them. Patrons were telling staff they did not have a smart phone and wanted to pay with cash. They were told they could pay with cashat the bar for now but that would end shortly. So I reluctantly ordered and paid via the app. All meals had a '90 minute wait' attached to them on the app which was false as we got our meals in good time at about 30 minutes. Many people left around us because of the 90 minute wait so business went out the door. There should be both options. A lot of older people don't have smart phones or credit cards and other people want to pay with cash. Also, how do I get my Monty's card discount when I pay via the app? You have signs saying Monty's gives you 5% discount off food and beverage.

Good Morning Kiearn, We thank you for review, our new menu and ordering system has been put in place for many reasons. We are trying to eliminate any kind of cross contamination between our patrons, using laminated or paper menus during the the pandemic times as its not a safe options, Me&u eliminates patrons passing around menu's before they have been properly cleaned and sanitized. This also helps us reduce paper wastage in the venue to try and make us more of an environmentally friendly venue. It also takes away the long ques that we used to regularly have in the bistro and bar and allows patrons to sit and enjoy the company of their friends and family whilst having food and drinks delivered straight to your table. The wait time has been an ongoing trial and error in which the kitchen and front of house are in consistent communication with each other. We have been trying to keep this as accurate to as can be as if we say its 30 and it takes 35 we get complaints so have tried to always give ourselves a little more. In say that it has had times where this has been forgotten to be adjusted back down quick enough as the wait times consistently change. The monty's card can be added to the me&u on the profil page once scanning the beacon or if you have the me&u app it will save to your profile. Next time you are in if you like a staff member can assist in adding these together if you like. We hope see you again. Kind Regards, Kawana Waters Hotel Management.

Booked a table for 8 people and when we went in the manager named Michael looked like he had no idea what was happening and it took 4 staff members all huddling around a laptop to try and work out we’re we could sit !. Shortly after we ordered are food and drinks through an app which was extremely anti social and isn’t good at if you kids and your all their on your phone around the table, and when the glasses came out we had to take them back up to the bar because they were extremely filthy like they hadn’t even been rinsed so ofcourse we just wanted a new glass but it was that bad the bar tenderer said she couldn’t find a clean glass and had to refund us for our coke! While that was happening we noticed a swarm of fruit flies all over the pre cut lemons that you couldn’t miss and they were still serving to customers ! So we asked for a full refund which was a mission itself for the entire table and we could only imagine what the condition of the kitchen and the food would have been like and having someone at the table thst was heavily pregnant we weren’t taking any risks . The manager Michael showed that he was extremely inexperienced, had no support from other management and had extremely low standards we will not be returning back here again until their is a new manager atleast, when we raised all the problems we had he hardly even spoke and looked like he had no clue what to do and just tried to blame that all the glasses were “dated “ ….. you can have a 100 year old glass cup and still have it clean !

Decided to do the New Year's Eve, Eve celebrations to avoid the crowds as we have always had a great steak here. Didn't appreciate the laminated sign upon entry that said "please be patient we are under-staffed" when we walked in, knowing full well that there are a lot of people looking for work. Covid brings out every excuse under the sun. Hence we were prepared for bad service. Tonight we waited over an hour for our meals to be delivered - two medium steaks and that was just the first issue. When the meals finally came out, they were tepid - room temperature. We ordered two eye fillet steaks (at $32 per meal) and they were both tough. One we ordered with garlic cream sauce and there was a very significant lack of garlic in the sauce. I have been on the coast for 14 years and never have I had a meal that bad. Needless to say, won't be back and won't be recommending this place to visitors.

Unfortunately you are correct there is a lot of people looking for work and we will gladly take resumes, The other unfortunate part is we actually have a lot of staff on the payroll but lost a lot of them to the mandate. It has been 20 years since I have been greeted and had table service as good as what Brett delivered tonight. Not only was the table service amazing, the whole family was happy with what food that was served and it was a overall great experience. We will be back for sure!

We are locals that keep going back hoping it will be better but have given up on the food. Great pub with big outdoor area overlooking marina. Unfortunately food is well overpriced for the quality. Typical pub food, but $22 is ridiculous for a steak burger (with chips) that has grissly meat and nothing special about the ingredients, although salad was fresh. The bun tasted like it had been in cool room a day too long. Salads nothing special and again expensive as is all meals. Restaurant prices for pub food. Staff nice enough and great place for a session, just don't eat there.

Saturday evening my friend and I went to the Kawana Waters Hotel for a meal. We looked around and there was no obvious place to order so I asked a bartender who tried to explain there set up but being a senior it just didn’t compute so after he made me feel stupid he got someone to help us order. Our garlic bread arrived then about 10 minutes later my garlic prawns arrived and I have to say they were horrible. They had very little flavour and tasted watery. We waited for my friend’s meal to arrive but it didn’t come for another 20 to 30 later . The waiter told me that this was the normal standard of service so I informed him that we would not be coming back.

The busiest period of the year usually means many customers, but obviously 100's of people ordering lunch isn't enough to use the two ordering tills at this hotel. Management need to know how understaffed it was today, food, drinks, ridiculous. The woman at the order till was lovely, but really, how can you expect so much from so few, and the food was too bad to make up for the wait. So embarrassed to bring our interstate visitors here.

Great to hear the service staff were lovely but also disappointing that the wait times and meals were not up to our normal high standards. I am sorry for your experience on this occassion. While not an excuse we did have 3 chefs call in sick which really put us on the back foot. While they tried the volume of customers did mean the wait times blew out and unfortunately consistancy. I have hired a new Head Chef and we are reviewing the kitchen team to ensure this is well managed in the future. I was genuinely impressed with every aspect of my dining experience here at Kawana Waters Hotel. It is a beautiful atmosphere with the tables overlooking the river, the food was a fantastic price and absolutely beautiful. From the bar staff, to the floor staff, to the kitchen staff, every single service aspect was outstanding. A special shout out to Brett who went beyond customer service expectations to create a memorable dining experience. Thanks so much to everyone involved, what a fantastic place to dine.

No longer give physical menu, now tablet orders. Absolutely ridiculous. Half the fun is opening a physical menu and discussing what we are all having. With this "tech friendly" tablet available or own phone, takes the fun out of it. 0/5 stars. Garlic Cheesy Cob Loaf. Excellent 10/10 prior visit, so ordered again. This one had no taste garlic, lousy on the cheese and in slices. Had hommus, chutney and pesto. No. Wanted the old Cob Loaf. Two people at our table had go back and order chips, just to feel satisfied. Extremely disappointing. 0/5 stars. The 8 yr old child with us ordered the Kids Dinner, but couldn't eat the chicken and spat it out. Two of us tasted and we agreed. Had to order an extra chips for her. 0/5 stars. Of everyone sitting at my table, I was the only one who enjoyed the meal. I had Prawn & Salmon Linguini. Delicious. However linguini is thin type pasta, this had very wide pasta, but it didn't take away anything with this dish. I would recommend this dish. 5/5 stars. It will be a very long time before we return. Sad. Used to be great.
