So lovely yesterday to make our way through the evening fog and see The Folly so beautifully lit up for Christmas. This is such a special pub. The deep red of the new decor is lovely, and all the trinkets and hats still giving that wonderfully eccentric and cosy feel. Mark's music compilations are genius. The food was delicious.

Excellent food and great service, the whole pub has great atmosphere and is very welcoming to cold and hungry canal boat users.

I was interested to visit the Folly after reading conflicting reviews on Tripadvisor. We went with friends who live in the nearby village of Napton on the Hill for early door drinks. The atmosphere was great, log fires friendly crowd and a very friendly landlord. All tables were booked for meals so I think that must say something about the... More

Lovely setting next to the canal and a wonderful traditional old pub run by lovely friendly people. You really don't get many pubs like this any more. Been a few times and had lunch and the food has always been excellent. Had probably the best Stake & Kidney Pie I've ever had today - first class. If you like traditional... More

A group of us went to the Folly for a meal and drinks and although situated in a lovely location the pub itself needs a refurb. It's very dated and cluttered inside and the rooms are dark and dingy. Could be a beautiful place if given some love. The food ruined our evening as every course was dreadfully disappointing and... More

We moor near this pub occasionally and each time decide to give it a go for food. Both times have been disappointing because the staff are very ill-informed when it comes to providing advice about allergens in the food. I am breastfeeding my daughter who is allergic to various foods so I have to be extremely careful with my diet.... More

This is a lovely little canal side pub and obviously popular. Whilst on our narrow boat we had looked in on a Friday evening to be told that the restaurant was fully booked. Perhaps our expectations were too high as we thought we must visit and have a meal on the way back, which we duly did. The menu isn't... More

Enjoyed a lovely dinner in here, 4 adults and daughter aged 4. Good pies and generous portions. I thought it was a little expensive. The pub is very traditional with a rather eclectic selection of memorabilia

Not been to the Folly for a number of years but heard good things from friends. A great old world pub that has changed little over the years which is a good thing. Traditional pub grub, home cooked, tasty and good value. Well kept Hook Norton beers and a good selection of ciders. Friendly staff and good service. Can definitely... More

This is a good pub food pub. The menu is short basic but of good quality. We had lunch and dinner. The main menu is the same for both with. The added of sandwiches pannies and jacket potatoes for lunch. Very dog friendly, great location. The staff are very friendly and supportive.
