We were looking for a lunch stop whilst heading down the A1 towards Grantham and found this characterful, friendly little cafe on TripAdvisor. This is a cafe with personality- a quirky little place with friendly staff and tasty food prepared with love. The chicken club...sandwich was a triumph.More
The menu has numerous choices with tasty specials that often vary daily. Great food with friendly and helpful staff. The log burner is welcome on chilly mornings. Highly recommended
Good little cafe. Ideal if you want to avoid the service stations on A1. We stopped here for breakfast. Friendly staff. Food arrived quickly. Good varied menu. Would have been 5 stars but for the tinned tomatoes.
A gem of a find off the A1. Quirky cafe, quality food, lots of choice excellent coffee, and friendly staff
Me and the wife were driving from Essex to York and decided to stop of on the way. We came across a nice little cafe called the crusty cub in Tuxford. Friendly efficient staff. Great food Great quality and quantity Clean and tidy Defiantly recommend...visiting for a bite to eat or a coffeeMore
We stopped on our way down the A1 because of the good reviews but we were disappointed. 2 teas, bacon sandwich and carrot cake which on menu said it came with pouring cream. The tiny pot if tea for 2 people at £1.75 each, ie...£3.50 was a joke. No pouring cream for cake so when I enquired, the serving girl said "do you want it"? Well I wouldn't have asked if I didn't, lol. Cream arrived, must have been sat in the fridge a while as there was a film on top and rings where it had dried onto the jug! Anyway, was not impressed. Bacon sandwich was OK.More
We’re very sorry you had a bad experience with us. The young girl who served you was a new member of staff, however that doesn’t excuse her serving old cream or not making you aware of our free refill policy. We are justly proud of...More
Thank you for a lovely funeral buffet. Arrived when expected and set out beautifully. Food quality was excellent and tastes to satisfy all our guests. Thanks to Jo and her staff.
We stopped here as a convenient place for breakfast on our journey up A1 to Scotland. It was only just off the A1 and was so much better than stopping at one of the service areas. Service was fast and efficient and the breakfast menu...extensive. The food is freshly cooked to order. I had a pancake stack with fruit and yoghurt. The fruit was fresh and included huge juicy raspberries. My husband’s full English was huge. A great place to stop. Popular with locals.More
