About
The story of Taste of Nepal is simple. What was, still is; an undying passion for food, a strong belief in the experience of dining and a team driven by love. Having learned to cook from my mother in Nepal I moved to India to train as a professional chef. Necessity brought me to Adelaide in 1988, leaving behind my family of a devoted wife and two young boys. Over the next decade and a half, I worked in various Indian restaurants, opened Adelaide’s first Nepalese restaurant and spread the warmth of Nepalese food in this quaint city. For me food has been about being innovative and authentic: freshly ground spices and the art of blending these spices into new dishes. Having been raised in Nepal

Taste of Nepal was absolutely wonderful! We had the vegan banquet for two! It was superb! We were also full which was a pleasant change for the vegan option. The staff were great! Many sincere thanks to all the kitchen staff and the front of...house staff! We will definitely be back the next time we are in Adelaide. We only wish you were closer to our home. Thank you!More

Visited as a family group and were able to do the shared mains style, so we were all able to sample multiple dishes. The Nepalese foods reminded me much of neighbouring Indian cuisine. Distinctive spices and flavours. The restaurant was comfortable and not too noisy....The set menus looked good, too.More

Our group of 5 visited tonight and after meeting two friendly, courteous waiters, we received our entrees and all enjoyed them very much. While waiting for our main course, the elderly gentleman of our group was not feeling the best and they were very accommodating...of our request to suddenly change everything that we were having and made it all takeaway for us, whilst showing concern for the health of the gentleman. We will certainly return on another day and enjoy, the ambience, food and excellent service that this restaurant offers.More

A great local restaurant with freshly prepared food that tastes great. Every course was fantastic and they provide a large range of vegan courses and alternatives. The oven roasted verges are brilliant.

The restaurant was freezing, 7 degrees outside and inside. Staff advised the heating was broken (we had worked that out) and would be fixed tomorrow. They did not see any need to find alternative heating and seemed to think the fixing tomorrow was all good....I suggested maybe an electric heater - but no, as it will be fixed tomorrow. A keen manager would have found some other form of heating once they realised there was a problem. Or provided some hot drinks. Or even reduced the bill. None of that. We sat there all rugged up - jackets, gloves etc - looking back we should have packed up and gone somewhere else. Service was sweet but disengaged, our requests seemed to come as a compele surprise.More
