Our Plant based diet makes it harder to find a good restaurant. Alma Tavern didn't only provide us with a variety of choices, their options were all very enjoyable and tasty. It was a great experience for the 4 of us, which we WILL repeat...when given the chance. The service was polite, friendly and very efficient. Thanks so much for this great night.More

Great customer service, good food and wine. Our waitress was Jade and she was fantastic. Very attentive and nothing was too much trouble

Disgusting behaviour by security. Establishment is full of under age patrons. Appalling, vicious and aggressive behaviour of security staff towards women absolutely inappropriate even after being warned of inappropriate behaviour of underage patrons. Interstate visitors of Adelaide, trying to celebrate a birthday. Will never return...to such a poor managed premise! You should be ashamed of yourselves! Does not deserve a ratingMore

Pretty decent experience here. Food was solid if unspectacular, prices OK and service was almost TOO friendly. No complaints.

$45 surf and turf included the smallest prawns and a thin piece of dry overcooked steak. Salad special with chicken was bland with dry overcooked chicken. Live locally, but average overpriced food doesn’t inspire our group to return. To add insult to injury, we waited...for at least 5 minutes to be served - on the wrong queue initially, and when another staff member arrived, she overlooked us and served someone who’d just arrived. Not good.More

Hubby& I have been to the Alma several times ... enjoying the Food & the comfort of dining room & especially the Seniors specials ... We decided to take Mum ( 91) who’s first comment was “I didn’t think we are coming somewhere so posh...for “A Seniors Treat” It was the first time we’ve been on a Tuesday & were surprised it was SO busy ... We were greeted by a lovely Young Man called Liam ... It did seem to take a bit longer to be served , which was understandable because they were so busy... When the Potato & pumpkin soup came it was so peppery it was not as pleasant as we imagine ... but the roast , fish & calamari was yummy & Ofcourse the churros were just as yummy .... My final thoughts ... perhaps one more staff member might of helped the wait , plus the pressure the staff might of felt ... We will be backMore

Dropped in for a couple of drinks and dinner on a Saturday night. Ordered a bottle of red wine for $45. The bar man put the bottle in an ice bucket! The wine was the worst Barossa Shiraz I ever had. Went to order a...pizza from their menu and was informed it was too hot to cook pizza. Too hot in Autumn? Why bother having it on your menu! Too busy catering for the 18 year olds. Would not recommend anyone goes here. Keep driving and go to The Republic!More

Was having a drink at the Alma hotel Saturday 6/2/21 when my partner went to order a bowl of fries at 8.30. She was told sorry the kitchen had closed which was fair enough. Then a couple came in and were warmly greeted by security...guards while they sat at the table for 10 minutes perusing the menu. He then went to the bar to order, but was obviously was told, sorry, kitchen was closed at which time security escorted him to somewhere else: at which time the manager came out and placed cutlery and a table number on their table. They had obviously ordered food somewhere. I suspect directly to the kitchen. We approached the manager to enquire as to why they were allowed food and he had the audacity to lie and say it was a pre-order!! It was not a pre-order, as we sat and watched them look over menu before they went to bar. Pre-ordered does not go to bar. This does not sit well, nor look professional, when people are treated differently and then clearly friends of the staff receive preferential treatment, followed by a barrage of lies from the manager. We wonder why we should go back.More
