Drinks are far too expensive. Staff abrupt under pressure. Not sure what's happened , it used to be good.Don't like dogs in pubs/ restaurants.

Very noisey hardly able to hear myself think let alone dinning companions. Food nice but would put in the posh pub food category with prices to match. Nice but won't try again.

Had the pleasure to eat at the nelson twice this weekend. Both times the food was lovely and the Staff are always really friendly. I honestly don’t think we’ve ever had a bad experience

Visited last week for a Wedding Anniversary lunch. Staff cheerful and pleasant. Meal nothing to write home about but seriously expensive for what it was. There are places locally where the food is of the same standard but far better value for money. Thinking over...More

We have been regulars at what is now The Nelson for years - ever since Moleface revived it. However I am sorry to say that those days are , if not gone then going to be far fewer. Since Moleface sold it there has been...More

Compelled to write a review after our party of 9 family meal, 01.09.18. It has to be five out of five – completely faultless. Service impeccable; friendly and helpful. All the main dishes were superb; some real talent in the kitchens. We tripped over from...More

The amount of pubs in Nottingham is so extensive that there's books on them, including maps. A pub crawl in Nottingham could probably be the last thing you ever do before your liver fell out or jumped out in a dire escape ploy. However, once...More

We went to the Lord Nelson for Sunday lunch in light of the great reviews on here. We were not disappointed! The menu was varied but we couldn't resist the roast beef. We were presented with layers of beautifully cooked roast beef, with a giant...More

I went in on Friday. The menu has changed and the price has shot up. My wife’s food was not anywhere near the standard of the food previously. Mine was a special carried over from a previous menu and was great.

It's 14.50 for rib of beef and 19.95 for roast sirloin - it's certainly not cheap - but you get what you pay for - and we've always really enjoyed it.
