Used to be a favourite, this may be the last visit. Quality of food not what it used to be, Too much salt on everything. They’ve increased prices and added a new charge of $10 per person for the walking trails.
Excellent informative centre explaining history of irrigation in the area and resultant salinity issues. Now being reversed by wetland development. Good walking tracks. 3 options including a board walk to bird hides. Definitely worth $10 fee to experience the place. Wine and food afterwards a...bonusMore
Gobsmacked. This is a socially responsible company that not just provides a delicious restaurant, it also nurtures and funds the wetlands on the property to support the wildlife and natural environment this part of Australia is blessed with. We enjoyed a wetlands walk, the mid...range one of 4km thereabouts, a delicious lunch, great red wine, great service and the friendliest staff you will ever come across.
Our lunch was delicious and presented to our table by the chef herself.
The walk was an equal highlight. Well maybe the jewel in the crown. Beautifully maintained track, and a dreamy lake at our destination. We came across a couple of scientific people checking the biology of the waterways. A sign of how special this place is. When we return to the Riverlands Banrock Station is top of the list.More
We booked in here for a graze plate and a couple of wines with the intention of going for one of the walks on offer but unfortunately too hot for that. But we sat on the outdoor area under the shade and enjoyed the food...and wine while grazing a very tasty platter with delicious flavours.More
Lower your expectations when visiting over the school holidays. They only have two staff members behind the counter and long queue. Kitchen closes at 3 pm so no food or snacks available. We paid $25 for a bottle of Muscato and 4 glasses. Down the...road at Berri Estate it only cost $9. While we tried to hide our disappointment a young girl came out to the table next to us to ask the family that she had just served minutes ago if they had finished. How embarrassing.More
What a beautiful setting for a winery.
Popped in for lunch and was surprised they only had Chardonnay in a cask. It was yummy just the same.
Ordered a beef burger to share. It’s was outstanding. One of the best burgers I have ever tasted....Seasoning on the chips was not to my liking. Would have been happy with plain salt. Lady from restaurant was amazing and very helpful.
View from deck was very pretty although we sat inside being a hot day.More
We went for an early breakfast just to enjoy the splendid views. From our brekky location we can see the natural layout of the wide wetland and the long walking trails. Unfortunately we have no spare time to go for the walking trails. Maybe next...time. Nice place to visit and highly recommended. Breakfast is nice too.More
I had always wanted to visit and finally got here on a trip to the Riverland. We booked for breakfast and had a delicious vegetarian big breakfast, fruit toast and coffee. This set us with energy to take on the walk. We opted for the...whole walk which was worth doing. The walk was varied with the wetlands and then scrub where we say a few move of kangaroo and joeys relaxing in their mother’s pouches. The amount of bird life was incredible and we were lucky to have many of the paths to ourselves. We stopped at all the bird lookout areas so nearly walked 9kms in about 2.5 hours. There are shorter walk options if needed. The weather was variable throughout so be prepared. Cost was $10 to do the walk which included maps, walkie talkie if needed and water- sunscreen and insect repellent is also offered- would consider next time especially if warmer. After completing our walk we were welcomed back and enjoyed a coffee and wine tasting in the lovely cafe area. Highly recommend and wish we had visited sooner.More
We pre-booked a breakfast time slot and the food, staff and view were amazing.
We then set off on the 8km Wetlands Walk, and even though the weather was warm at 29C, the wetlands area with the variety of birdlife, the little nooks to quietly...watch the birds, the kangaroos and the wildflowers was worth the 3 hour wander. The final boardwalk was particularly beautiful with swans and cygnets everywhere.
We will definitely be back to enjoy lunch on the outdoor deck and sip on some of the wines.
Well worth the visit.More

sign in and out, no fee when I did it. Underwater though when river rises, so can't complete then. Check the actual distances though, I think map not the greatest for giving you loops and distances. It is a long hike around... More
