Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic, friendly alpine atmosphere with roaring fire and excellent food. Pool table that whole family enjoyed. Will be back!

Saturday night with friends and the place was pumping. QR code ordering which I hate, most things had sold out except the pizza. We all ordered pizza, those who ordered first got their order last. The vegetarian pizza came out missing 3 ingredients and not...a word spoken about it. Nevertheless it resulted in a pretty bland offering. Went back the next afternoon for beers and darts, didn’t bother with the food again.More

Ordered the brisket and chips. Came out on a ludicrously small plate and was sliced wafer thin. Chips were more salt than potato. Pretty disappointing.

What a find - we were expecting a typical pub meal. However after walking through the bar out to the little casual restaurant we were greeted by chef David who served a delicious smoked brisket (smoker outside) with a stunning side salad. Dessert was a...caramel tart which was taken to another level. This is a real find - we were there on the first day of summer so not very busy, so if you can make time to relax, meet the chef (and Helmet) you will be treated to a meal made with passion and joy! And at a good price. A generous serving.More

Ordinary pub food. Ordinary service. Ordinary ordering style. Food was ok, but wouldn’t rush back. Needs to lift its game now that Element is down the road.

Waited over an hour for meal, only to eventually be told there was a mix-up and my order didn't go through, and will make it now. In that whole time, no one checked on me. No offer of refund or even a free drink! Waited...another 15min for undercooked meal. Ate half of it anyway because I was starving by then, but had some toast at home afterwards. Woke up in night feeling sick due to the undercooked meal. And they force you to prepay for meals. Absolutely disgusting. Do not eat here ever.More

Travelling to Dinner Plain for a much needed break, we were very happy to find this little gem ! We had woodfired pizza, there's no getting away from it, there's nothing better than a well made homestyle pizza. This chefs pizza's are good ! The...best I've had in a long time. They're simple and tastyThe staff are very helpful and have a great sense of humour with prompt service.. Oh, and the cost ? Very reasonable. We'll be back !More

Walked in, no one to greet us, so checked out the tables - plenty available but no-one around, only one waitress, so queued at the bar to be told fully booked, but you can order online, that will be quick and they'll ring when ready....Ordered and paid for pizza, went back to our apartment, and they sent us a text saying it would be ready in 20 mins, but that was just an estimate! Here's an estimate! Minus five stars for you, but I have to give one minimum. An hour later, still nothing, so fronted up at the hotel and they hadn't even started cooking them, "won't take take long", then it took another half an hour. Talk about new heights in tourist town unprofessionalism. Avoid, and NEVER pay for anything in advance here. Oh, and the pizza was tiny, overpriced and with stingy, sub standard toppings.More

Went to the Ramada and the Pub on the main circuit. Kept coming back to this one, easily the best atmosphere, cheaper drinks and an interesting menu. Parking a bit of an issue but Dinner Plain isnt that big and perhaps walking home is a...better option than driving anyway.More

Atmosphere was great. Warm and inviting, the cutlery is in a draw under the table which is pretty cool. The pizza my partner got was delicious, they ordered the ‘chill out’ which was a margarita with basil. The pizza base was flawless, light and fluffy,...this pizza itself had a good amount of sauce and cheese. A friend got the ramen, also delicious, except there was a lump of noodles all stuck together in it. I got the muscles, the sauce was tasty, however most of the muscles weren’t de-bearded properly and I spent half my time inspecting the muscle before I ate it. The bread that came with it tasted burnt. I also got the Parmesan cheese croquette, so did another friend. They were honestly pretty bland, and obviously two different batches as some were soft and silky in the middle and others were like dried out mash potato. The two different batches came out on the same plate. We got the Nutella Doughnuts for dessert, they weren’t great. The doughnut was pretty dense and thick and there was next to no Nutella in them. The service was super friendly, 10/10, however it took a while to get drinks brought to the table. If they didn’t have the delicious pizza I probably wouldn’t go back, and I found it difficult to believe they would charge between $25 - $35 for a pizza. They charge an exorbitant amount and try to have a ‘finer dining’ style menu but unfortunately I feel they fall quite short of that; the lumpy noodle, poorly cleaned muscles, Nutella-less nutella doughnuts, I expected better for the prices they’re asking for their meals. Shout out to the awesome waiting staff, when we complained about the doughnuts they took them off the bill!More

Great food here always ... full credit to the chef! The only complaint we have is that every republican me we go here and order an entree and mains they both come out together!! This has happened on three occasions now even after we asked...the staff for it not to happen. They always seem a little short staffed on the restaurant floor which brings the service and experience down a little.More
