Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Welcoming, comfortable and friendly. Sitting outside or inside, Elements is welcoming and comfortable. Inside in front of the fire you can sink into beautiful chesterfield sofas. The bar staff are friendly and cheerful, and you can decide on a casual menu in front of the...fire or a more formal menu in the dining room.More

Element restaurant is a fantastic little gem in Dinner Plain resort. The food is of high quality and standard. The menu is limited but caters to everyone’s taste and prepared and served in a timely manner. The staff are all friendly, polite and eager to...help to ensure your dinner is enjoyable. The ambience is welcoming and warm. The decor invites you to the Victorian high country, with antler light fittings, antique skis, snow shoes ,and snowy Alpines scenes mounted on the walls, lastly but not least the magical stone fireplace, with its blazing wood longs burning and cracking in the background! A must if you are ever in Dinner Plain.More

Friday night dinner with friends in the off-season. Very busy restaurant although people seemed to clear out early ( by 9) Service was attentive and friendly. Prices were reasonable given the location. Menu is a bit limited but everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The Barramundi...dish whilst lovely, could have had a bit of colour rather than a very beige looking plate.More

I hope last Wednesday night was Chef Rory Stones night off as the chicken was inedible it was so very salty. My husband ordered a starter which interestingly enough was brought to the table at the same time as both of our main courses....after a...long wait. The waiter asked about my food as clearly I had left over 50% of it, so I told him it was extremely salty, but I had no further reaction other than to take the plate away. The result was that they lost any further visits from us. We cancelled another reservation and instead enjoyed food at the local hotel High Plains.More

The food was absolutely beautiful, incredible flavours and a generous serving. The bar and restaurant have a wonderful atmosphere and the staff were all fantastic! We were there on a Friday and they had live music which we all really enjoyed. Definitely the best meal...I have had on the mountain this season!! Thank you - we will be highly recommending you to everyone. ClaireMore

Visited many times during a week in Dinner Plain, great for a fireside hot drink during early afternoon after skiing. Great service and lovely seating around the fire. Dinner in the restaurant at night though is where this place really shines. The menu is great...and the food quality is high. We went with a large group and ate well. The appetizers are good for sharing and the mains were exceptional. Wine is limited to fairly local vineyards and not great...skip wine.More

Wow. Just…wow. Have dined here twice now and both times it has excelled my expectations . Located in Wyndham Timeshare main building, I assumed this restaurant would offer standard shnittys, pizza and chips. Was I wrong!! This a La carte restaurant would not be out...of place in Sydney or Melbourne- such are the incredible meals it serves. Well done to the chef and the busy wait staff. We will be back one more time before we go home.More

A fine atmosphere set around a highland themed minimalist decor. The menu is limited and tries to cater for a wide range of tastes. The food is excellent and relatively good value. Unfortunately, that is where the positive aspects end. The service and lack of...any knowledge regarding it. is overwhelming. We booked a table for 2 at 6 pm. We entered the restaurant to find no one in attendance. We knocked on the kitchen service door to enquire as to any service being available. A waiter from the bar eventually appeared and proceeded to SCOLD us for not letting them know that we were entering the dining room ! WHAT! Menus were delivered and orders taken with no engagement whatsoever. Wait times for food delivery were significant, but acceptable. Meals were delivered with no idea of who ordered which dishes. No seasoning was provided on tables, so a pepper grinder was brought to the table for self service. The same applied to fresh water. Tables were ‘sticky’ and dead flies were on window ledges. I think the scene has been described enough to indicate the attitude of this eatery. You will not be disappointed by the food, but do not have any high expectations about anything else :-(More

Most of Dinner Plain was closed so we were pleased to find Element open. Sure the menu was limited but the food was delicious. Staff were great, friendly and helpful. And the food was delicious.

We had a very good experience here. Service was excellent, they were all very friendly and the meals were very quick. The food was also nice. I had the Parma and the salad and chips were some of the best I’ve had. It was a...relaxed atmosphere that wasn’t too overcrowded. The prices were competitive but definitely cheaper than other places we visited in Dinner Plain. Absolutely nothing to complain about.More

We went for dinner and drinks at the Elements (Dinner Plain). During the course, we told the staff that we are going out for a smoke. When we got back in 5 mins, we found that the dinner and drinks were off the table. There...was nothing. It had already dampened the mood. On top of that, we were charged for dinner and drinks. We were told that they gave us 20% discount on the bill for this mistake. However, as a good gesture they shouldn’t have charged; additionally, no apology. Save yourself and DONT visit.More

This used to be the best restaurant in Dinner Plain when it was Rundell's and we always looked forward to going there. It is now a shadow of its former self. The menu has gone substantially down market and its previous fine dining has been...replaced by a minimal menu of cafe fare. The venue (including the bar) is chronically understaffed. A full restaurant (which COVID restrictions say is 40 people) had one waitress. She was going for her life but it was just beyond her and the fault of management, not her. One menu per table is further illustration of the minimal approach. We had also been to the bar through our time at Dinner Plain whether for coffees or drinks and the staff shortage led to extensive waits (15 minutes to get served and another 10 minutes to receive the coffees).More

This was a good experience in a relaxed setting at the end of the Melbourne lockdown. A country club type area and bar for pre dinner drinks was most acceptable. Strange eating in a large room that had only 10 patrons. The meal exceeded our...expectations. Absolutely delicious. The Squid entree was scrumptious and sushi combination pork was so tasty. A very enjoyable meal.More
