Had lunch here with 4 friends. Food and service were both very good, we all ate something different and everyone was pleased. I have to say the chips were top notch, among the best I have had!

Food of good quality - however clearly the bar staff think it more important to serve locals than those trying to place orders even though they are at the bar first - lack of care in taking the order as two mistakes when the food...More

We were here for lunch recently. The pub serves unpretentious food which can be enjoyed outdoors if the weather is warm enough. Their sandwiches, made with Hobb House bread, are simple but hearty. The landlord is friendly and welcoming.

I had the nachos... It was so good. Big portion for 6.50. I would say that the 'chilli' is not really like a chilli, but given that they don't have it anywhere else on the menu, it was pretty good. The sandwiches were also VERY...More

We have visited several times and enjoyed well cooked food. It's pub type food ( not fine dining) but portions are good, tasty and there is something for everyone. On our most recent visit, friends were drooling over the beer and steak pie. All this...More

This is a popular pub so firstly you need to book in advance. Once you have ordered at the bar relax with an excellent pint and anticipate the goodies to come. And they are good! There was a mixed grill on the 'specials board' which...More

Great nachos, burgers, fish and chips and proper lasagne (not the boiling hot in a boiling hot oval dish type, rather the type that can stand up alone). Perfect informal dining.

We visited this beautiful old pub whilst on holiday. The staff were so warm and friendly & the pub had lots of ambience & character, really oldy worldy. We all enjoyed our food, I had Chicken Supreme with mushroom & tarragon sauce, it was so...More

I love this pub. There's a great selection of drinks, if that's what you're looking for. There's also an extensive food menu, all of which is perfectly presented. Compared to the local Butcombe competition, i.e. the Swan at Rowberrow, there really is no comparison if...More
