A self confessed foodie & fanatical cook, I would rate this place as outstanding. A rare find in a tourist trap, a restaurant with the freshest local produce, impeccably prepared & presented at totally reasonable prices. The decor tasteful. The staff were friendly, professional & knowledgeable. French & English spoken. I cannot recommend this highly enough. I would imagine reservations would be necessary in high season.

We visited Burano and had great Lunch un Riva Rosa ! The service was impeccable to start with. As we had two teenagers the waiter said that the chefs can prepare something more simple for the Kids. And after the waiters suggestions they had the carbonara! It looked delicious. The risotto and the spaghetti alle vongole was amazing too! Overall the food is very Good, clean flavours, fast service and helpful staff ! We will be back!

Good authentic food in on the bustling colourful Main Street of Burano Service is great, waiters welcome you with a broad smile which makes already for half of the experience. We had the sardines, a vellutata and the codifsh local style. All very fresh and tasty. Would definitely go back again

After taking the vaporetto to Burano and a few hours sightseeing we were ready for lunch and very excited to find a Michelin-starred restaurant. Unfortunately lunch at Ristorante Riva Rosa on Burano (gnocci capesante zucchini and filetto di orate sea bream) was a major disappointment. Michelin star? Ho hum. A single line summary would be lunch portion sizes and dinner prices. Pretentious to the point of ridiculousness the restaurant is in a perfect spot beside the canal but service is unacceptably slow given the quality of the fare once delivered and the prices are just not justified.

We asked if they were any tables available for two persons. The host told us to sit in a corner table. Ten minutes afterwards the menus came and we were asked for drinks. We requested water and 15 minutes later they came to take our order and brought us bread. We placed our order. Fritti di mare misto and gnocchi it took them about 30 minutes to bring our food. The taste was decent. However when we asked for dessert I asked if it was possible to have it within ten minutes and we were assured that was not a problem. We had to catch a ferry and 25 minutes afterwards the dessert was not brought yet. I asked for my ticket and told them to forget about dessert. They brought the ticket and was told that if i wanted my dessert off ticket i had to go inside. I went to paid and the owner or manager told me that in order for the food to be good it takes time and that my dessert was ready but that i was an ignorant and did not know about good food then he would taken off my bill. Very rude will not recommend anyone to go and eat there.

The food here is sublime. The staff were friendly, informative and non intrusive. This restaurant serves mainly fish but made a special dish for my daughter with no fuss or bother. We came away full and happy

We came to Burano island for the day and we stumbled across this beautiful restaurant with very helpful and friendly staff. I was cold and they moved us to a quiet lovely warm room without a problem. They told us we could create our own starters so we asked for a sharer of Calamari and it was beautiful! My partner had fish for main and I had a traditional spaghetti bolognese which was very nice. We then had 2 English breakfast teas which were the nicest cups of tea we have ever tasted. Our time on Burano island was so lovely because of the wonderful staff at Riva Rosa. Thankyou for being so lovely and Thankyou to the chefs for the wonderful food.

This was our favorite meal in Venice and this was a hard call to make but the service and setting along with top quality food set this place apart. The fish was incredible as was the steak. Can’t wait to come back here someday.

The restaurant is right on a canal, occupies a beautiful position and with the right climate the outdoor tables are very scenic. The interior is no different, the rooms are tastefully furnished and the staff is friendly, professional and attentive. The menu proposal is interesting, but I would enrich the wine proposal. There were 6 of us and we ordered several things to try a bit of everything and it must be said that it was all very good. So why is my rating very low? For the simple reason that there are quantities of tapas bar food on the plates. The quantity of the dish is reduced to little more than a taste, some dishes are bordering on mockery, such as the gnocchi with scallops and the fried calamari and vegetables. The costs of the dishes are around 30 euros which in my opinion is not cheap, the quality is there but the quantity is too far from the cost of the dish. I think I was objective and I wouldn't know whether or not to recommend this restaurant which is a valid place for many reasons but it fails in the fundamental one by betraying the word "catering" of its meaning.

My husband and I were on Burano for one day only and decided to have lunch at Riva Rosa. We were beyond impressed! From the maitre d, to the wine, to the food.... everything was perfect. the maitre d suggested a fried zucchini flower appetizer and it was absolutely delicious. We also ordered the risotto and it was incredible. Thanks to everyone for a wonderful all around experience! Amy and Andy Barth

Cibo Eccellente! Service was superb, our waiter Diego accommodated us explaining each dish and which ones our kids would prefer. We were strapped for time and they served our dishes quickly so we didn’t have to worry about missing the water bus. We had the artichoke scallops, sardine with pickled fennel, and caprese salad for appetizers. All very delicious, best caprese salad I’ve had. For lunch we ordered the spider crab pasta, the gnocchi with scallops, and my daughter had fettuccine alfredo. Temperature and flavor of our dishes were well planned, and we enjoyed every part of our lunch at Riva Rosa. The Italian hospitality here was a memorable experience more so here than any other place we’ve visited in Italy, and we’ve visited different parts of Italy four different times. A must try in Burano and was highly recommended to us from a few locals. Sorry no photos- I was busy enjoying my food.

Perfectly cooked food. Wonderful customer service. The wait staff were super friendly and very accommodating. I eat solo and had the beautiful view of colorful rowhouses. The service and attention given to me was the same to other tables. The food was hot and seasoned perfectly. The seafood sample was like a japanese sashimi plate mix of fresh seafood. Every bite a new experience. The risotto was like heaven in my mouth. I will remember this meal the rest of my life. Hope to revisit one day!

had lunch for the first time in this restaurant (upstairs) in an autumn still with summer temperatures and therefore with an overflow of tourists in the stalls. The location is among the most beautiful and romantic you can imagine, in the heart of Burano. Place settings, wines, service, courtesy, deserve 5 stars. A sore point is the cuisine, (for those familiar with fish) certainly not up to the task: with pre-cooked trenette with squid ink, which tasted nothing like cuttlefish, and a large mixed fry (the name comes from the menu) which only had the price of maxi, almost with more vegetables than fish. Truly a shame. Maybe with fewer tourists......

We visited this restaurant and all the dishes we ordered were really delicious, but the quantity of them was not consistent. In our case we ordered two pasta dishes, spaghetti with clams, but the amount of pasta was really ridiculous, meaningless because it did have the correct amount of clams, which is the most expensive product on the plate. In the end we had to order more food.

Today we had lunch at this restaurant and I would say that there were no negative notes, but everything was perfect. Delicious dishes, carefully prepared and above all I was struck by the kindness of the owner and all the staff: I have various intolerances and they made sure there were no foods that were prohibitive for me. If you go to Burano you cannot skip this restaurant.
