Stopped there for fish and chips after we heard they had amazing fresh fish.
There was a selection of different fresh fish to choose from. We chose gurnard and tarakihi (there were also snapper and kahawai). These were cooked to order along with a generouse helping of chips. I have to say, one of the best fish and chips we ever had.
Apart from the usual fish and chips menu, you can also buy smoked fish, fresh oysters, raw fish salad and more.
Definitely worth a stop. 10 out of 10

Fantastic down to earth eatery; if it’s good kiwi fish& chips your looking for look no further.. YUM! This type of take away is getting hard to find. NO other eatery in this state highway village compares.! Not only that they have a variety of other delicacies on offer too. This been our second time here we were all very happy to see it was still open & operating. We tried the smoked fish & mussels the last time delicious!! We much regretted not purchasing more. Absolutely fantastic food.. keep up the great food… from a group of 7 adults spread from Taupo to north Auckland

Best fish & chips we’ve had on this trip, prices very reasonable, great size meals for the price, burgers were also awesome & friendly service, highly recommend 👌 stop in there for sure on your way over to the Coromandel Peninsula you won’t be disappointed 👍

Have been buying fresh fish here for years on way up from Tauranga to Auckland for my parents. It was always so good, so fresh but last Thursday I bought four fillets of terikihi and I thought I got a fishy smelling whiff but didn’t think too much about it - went to cook it and it was so strong and stinky we didn’t eat it. New owners not as good as old owners. $35 wasted on stinky fish - fresh fish you can’t smell so this was not fresh. Won’t go back now.

Loved this place so much we would travel from Auckland just for raw fish and smoked fish. Came here to today and was terrible, have never been disappointed before today raw fish was warm and not a nice flavour.
Wondering where the old owners have ended up so we can buy from them again.

Not like it used to be .smoked mussels were bland and definately no love in them.sweet Chilli smoked were in a watered down Chilli dsauce fro.bottle and the garlic ones with crushed garlic out of a jar,or thats how they presented.no oily yummy strong tastes.
Used to be really nice and always stopped in over the years but will not go again.
Very plain and no effort in the making

Have driven past hundreds of times but never stopped at Fish Faze before. Cruising home in a stream of holiday traffic, the kids and I needed to get some dinner in so they could drift off to sleep. The shop is nothing much to look at with arcade games etc and on any other day I might have judged a book by its cover.
The young lady who served me was smiley and precise (12mins) with the time it would take to prepare our food and I was given a "table" number card. I returned to the car outside. About 12 mins later I was thinking about returning to the shop to wait for the food and standing next to the car window was the young lady with our food in a tray and again a big smile on her face.
Such a refreshing change of customer service compared to what you normally get from disgruntled takeaway food staff. I hope management are looking after her!
We ordered hotdogs and wedges and they were delicious and well packaged. The hot dogs were a bit soggy, but the overall experience means we will be back.
For seafood lovers the fridge was full of pottles of mussels oysters etc.

Generous size of fish when ordering fish n chips. Almost to big but fresh as it comes. You won't be dissapointed plus they sell smoked and raw.

I love this place. We live nearby and come for fish and chips or the amazing chowder every few months. They are now selling keto treats for anyone wanting that. Totally worth a stop.

Fish faze was definitely a place between destinations. Doesn't have curb appeal but who cares?!! We bought fantastic smoked fish and was so impressed with the products available that we decided to stay for fish and chips. The staff are friendly and the service quick. It was the best fish and chips we had eaten by a long shot. The batter was light, the fish fresh and the chips were perfect. Great portion sizes and inexpensive.
Definitely will be a permanent stop over when visiting the coromandel.

Returning to Auckland from trip to the Waikato. Saw the sign and the advertisement blurbs
Shop was small bit looked OK
Bought fresh fish fillets, smoked fish and some things in containers
Continued home
Container items were expensive but fine.
The fish however was terrible. Looked OK in the cabinet, when I hit home to cook it, it was smelly and had to throw away. It was too old.
Live too far away to return and will never shop there again
Very disappointed

Nothing but fresh at Fish Faze, I love the home made fish cakes! Great knowledge about the produce, was advised to try their Gem fish and what do you know...A new fav! I recommend stopping by on your way past. Well worth it! Thanks Fish Faze team!

The Best Hot Smoked Fish!!, fresh fish to take home for dinner. Friendly people, Freshest Flounder around.Home made foods to take away, of eat at the little table in the sun, Great service.
