The staff are so happy & friendly. We found out things about their lives & they were interested in our lives etc. They all speak great English. Sad to leave:( Arkamara is so beautiful and peaceful. The pool areas, restaurants, rooms, the massage rooms all amazing.
We enjoyed our aromatherapy massages !
So relaxing staying here. Shuttle to take guests into the centre to see the market, shops, palace. We did the Monkey park it was so good.
The food is so good at breakfast , lunch, drinks one. The menus have so many choices:)
The staff work brilliantly together as a team :)
The entertainment in evenings is nice- acoustic guitar player, Bali dancing, bamboo flute etc:)
We saw a snake & a big lizard by the pool while here:)
The gift shop has lovely gifts to buy!

Kakau restaurant is located in the Arkamara Dijiwa hotel near the south of Ubud.
The hotel itself is set off the main road, and has a luxurious feeling of isolation as you're surrounded by the the balinese jungle - the hotel has a clearly high degree of production value and blends traditional balinese architecture with luxury with great synergy. They really nailed the vibe - and we know the hotel is balinese owned so there's a great degree of authenticity and care. It's relaxing and just feels "great".
The service is impeccable, I don't think I've ever waited more than 5 seconds to be greeted even when it's busy, the staff are attentive, they check allergies with a great degree of rigour, give recommendations for the menu and just for activities around the island and you can see that they care and take pride in their job which is reflected in the service. In particular: Ani, Tiwi Yanti and Wisnu (coffee master) are excellent waitresses and bar tenders but every single staff member has been nothing short of incredible during our stay and dining experience. We had the pleasure of meeting the chef, who was knowledgeable, well presented and also took great enthusiasm in explaining balinese cuisine to us, educating us on the local spices (I'm from England and have never seen a snake fruit before).
This leads me nicely to discussing the food itself, the menu is a good balance of indonesian / balinese greatest hits and European style dishes offering great choice for all tastes. They refine the indonesian dishes, presenting with a modern twist but the portion sizes are still great and the flavour is not compromised, the Satay Ayam, Nasi Goreng, Rendang and other classic dishes are all great picks! There's great range and we stayed 12 nights and did not get bored of the food.
The drinks: the signature cocktails are all very well made, and are balanced and well considered allowing you to experience Arak in a more elegant way. The staff are also very competent at " classic cocktails" too so if you prefer an old fashioned or daiquiri, they are tasty and balanced also.
For the non drinkers, they have a wide range of juices and none alcoholic drinks, which are freshly squeezed where possible and of high quality, all water is bottled mineral as is the ice and the attention to detail even on the fruit carving is exquisite.
All in all, Kakau is really one of the best restaurants we've eaten at during our stay and holds up well from a cost perspective compared to other "premium" restaurants in ubud centre, whilst still being reasonable. It's well worth the short trip, and this is the type of business that deserves the be supported.

The restaurant is located on the grounds of the Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud Hotel in a very beautiful picturesque location. First of all, I want to note the restaurant staff - they are professionals of their business, very smiley and pleasant to communicate, ready to help in any matter. All staff are fluent in English and there are no problems communicating. The food at the restaurant is delicious. All the food is fresh. Chefs make their dishes into culinary masterpieces. We were at the restaurant mostly for breakfast. Menu order. A balanced diet by calories, the dishes are very full, but there is never a heavy stomach and a feeling of overeating, it is very important. Aroma coffee and freshly squeezed juice are unlimited and included in breakfast. Were at the dinner - delight. Interesting pitch with fantasy. It's delicious! To sum up: a restaurant of the highest category with interesting delicious dishes, pleasant atmosphere and shows in the evenings. I recommend it for a mandatory visit!

The hotel staff are all friendly and the swimming pool is pretty, so it's great for taking pictures. Breakfast is included in the room rate, and it was amazing that you can choose juice, coffee, and 4 dishes per person instead of a buffet. The food is delicious, so I'm overall satisfied with the hotel.

This is the restaurant within the Arkamara Resort and Spa hotel. Breakfast was complimentary for my stay. We also joined the cooking class for 650k per person, which started with a morning market visit. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit and found it really interesting. Riski was our chef for the class and he is amazing, really passionate and made us feel comfortable.

Had the honour of being surprised with the romantic candlelight dinner for my birthday and this experience absolutely surpassed all expectations. I was in awe of the care, attention to detail and quality of food and service provided. Firstly, the space was decorated with petals and candles, making for a truly spectacular setting. Ani, our server, was beautifully warm and friendly during the meal and we were made to feel like true “kings and queens” as per Ani’s instructions! We had the Western Menu, complete with breaded prawns & salad, potato and chicken soup and steak, pasta and vegetables. For dessert we had crepes and some cheeky birthday cake. Thank you to the staff at Kaukau for not only making this girl feel special on her birthday, but for providing such a quality service.

We had the great pleasure of staying at Arkamara Dijiwa Resort in Ubud and visiting their beautiful Kaukau Restaurant several times. The atmosphere was lovely, the food was delicious and plentiful, and they even provided live entertainment. Risma and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to make us both comfortable and welcome there. We would highly recommend this spot for a pleasurable experience.

For a resort restaurant.. this place is absolutely incredible! Usually, hotel restaurants are a hit or miss, (mostly miss). Wonderful breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu to accommodate any palate and diet restrictions or preferences. It makes wanting to try local cuisine without wondering if you’re going to get “Bali Belly” after but also gives you the comforts of home cuisine. The staff is amazing and were so accommodating; they went above and beyond to make sure our stay was wonderful and our belly’s were happy and full. Breakfast was included with our stay and it was not your basic continental breakfast; the options were delicious, hearty and filling. The staff were even so gracious as to extend the possibility of packing us breakfast boxes since some days we left the resort too early to sit down and eat. Not to mention, the ease of room service if we were too tired to sit down and eat at the restaurant. You definitely have to try the traditional Balinese dinner night they offer every Thursday; we were lucky to get to experience an even more extravagant NYE dinner and show, so I can only imagine the same energy they put forth on Thursdays. Thank you everyone for taking care of us!

During our 10-day stay in Bali, we started every morning at Kaukau restaurant—and it never disappointed. The menu offers an impressive variety, so there’s always something new to try, and their fresh fruit salad and smoothie bowls quickly became our favorites

Kaukau restaurant is fantastic! Such a lovely way to start the day with a breakfast platter - got to select 4 items with a hot drink and juice as part of our inclusions with the resort. Breakfast was our favorite meal of the day not to mention the hospitable staff who always greet us with a warm smile. Highly recommend!

Fantastic place to eat. 100% recommend.
Had most of our meals here, great choice of variety and big portion sizes.
Service was impeccable and they were extremely attentive to our needs. Including accommodating disabilities etc.
Breakfast included soo much choice and it was all cooked to perfection and delicious.ain meals were tasty and even included a complimentary appetiser

We absolutely loved our stay here. Extremely friendly staff and happy staff. They were very accommodative. Our breakfast of 4 items each was yummy. On one day when we had to travel they were kind enough to pack sandwiches, fruits and croissants for us. The place is serene and is in the middle of greenery and pristine blue waters.
