Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Possibly one of the yummiest food we had in Porirua. Its a shame that we havent tried this for the last 3 years. Needs a bit more advertisement I guess :-). Loved the food specially my young one.

I go to curry village regularly for meals and takeaways. Their food is always very good. I can recommend their chicken madras which has a very tasty sauce and the chicken Bhuna which has a more complex sauce and uses tandoori chicken meat. What stands out for me is the excellent quality and cut of the meat. Another great menu choice is the lamb Dalca (lentils and lamb) which is a bit different but again great quality meat.

Chicken bhuna, very rich flavour (but not over powering) ordered medium, personally found it a bit mild but I have a hot tooth. However it was super enjoyable and the cheesy naan is one of the best I’ve had in the country.

Very un impressed with the service. we got takeaway. We phoned our order and was told max 25 minutes and ended up waiting for 45 minutes .Worst part is we waited that long for tasteless food.
I think that's the last time we have gone there.

Ordered a biryani. Ordered hot but received at least 4 times hot. Am Indian but imagine if it was too hot for me, how hot it must be. Looks like 4 different chefs added chillies separately. But even worse is that even when I emailed them about it requesting an investigation, it was ignored. I was recommended this place by a family that orders regularly here. After this incident they have also stopped ordering from here. A better option to this place would be the Masala Lounge just meters away. Better service, better food, better prices.

It's quite some time since we last ate here so we were ready to renew its acquaintance. It doesn't look much from the outside - don't be fooled. The food is fabulous. We have a friend with special dietary requirements who eats here regularly because they can cater to those needs. The Bollywood music in the background is probably not to everyone's liking, although it does not impede conversation. Expect to be well fed - the Beef Vindaloo is divine with plenty of spiciness. Now when can I go back. It's mouth watering just thinking about it.

fantastic food, fruity flavours, sweet tasting meals, rice fluffy and fresh, all good. Place needs a minor tidy up to bring it up to scratch but the welcoming double doors opening onto Hardham Place courtyard added to the atmosphere, was not obtrusive to the ongoing foot traffic and quiet so well done. plenty of large groups there but the noise klevel well controlled and conversation excellent with dinner company. highly recommended. glad they dropped the $1.00 surcharge for a doggybag for me, i mean thats just standard to have a doggybag, charging for it seems so mean. they don't surely have a surcharge for the same plastic tray for a takeaway?

I have been going to curry village for years now. Always consistently great food, amazing service. I'm that much of a regular that when I haven't been in a while they ask where I've been haha. I love the food (have there or takeaway or delivered). I refuse to go elsewhere. Keep up the great work guys! You are all amazing!

No reservation and lots of seats available. This was before 7pm on a Friday. Service was quick and drinks arrived fast. One main arrived then a wait for the other 2. The bread basket was loaded and more than enough for 3 people. The curries were tasty but the heat on the mild was more than the medium in a different dish. The mango chutney was way too sweet and the mixed pickle was not that good.
Total cost was about what you would expect between $17-20 a main.

Curry Village has the most legendary dishes, something for everyone and heat to your palate.
My fave is the GCC as per the subject. I have introduced so many people to this including overseas visitors. The garlic naan is also amazing.

We have been regular customers at this restaurant since it first opened. We keep coming back for the delicious curry and cosy atmosphere. We have eaten here for lunch and dinner and the food quality is always good. We also have take out on occasion and again the curry is always good. The sagwalla is a family favourite and between us we have covered almost the entire menu. We have never once had a bad dish. Be careful though if you have a shared platter between two people as an appetiser because it may leave you too full to enjoy your mains! Definitely our favourite Indian restaurant in Porirua.

We went here after a while and found food was good.
They need to improve their customer service by having a friendly front office person/serving guy - perhaps basic smiling class would help

We just got takeout the other night. Was reminded how good the curries are from this place. Good variety and large servings. Not the cheapest around but good quality. Always too much rice!
