Solid Indian Restaurant, good atmosphere super food.

Had both the Lamb Madras and Lamb Biryani. Beware of the Kiwi Hot, I can handle hot but it is really quite at the limit. I ordered the Biryani Kiwi hot the first time and it was too much, the medium Lamb Madras was perfect.

We are visiting family in the area and were seeking a restaurant that had gluten free and dairy free options. Our group ordered a range of dishes and spice levels, everyone was very happy with their meals. The service was excellent and staff were friendly. Highly recommend.

Delicious Monday dinner

Don’t usually write reviews but tonight we had the most delicious fresh dinner and excellent service. Something for everyone- teenagers had chips with their tandoori chicken, and we had delicious chicken, lamb and vegetarian curries. Thank you Whitby Taj for that lovely surprise- it was also our 20th wedding anniversary which made it even more lovely.

Customer Service Appalling

Customer service used to be great but recently it has been appalling. The waiter ignored us until the cook told him to take our orders. When he took our orders he was so rude. The plates used to be warmed up now they just come out cold. It would also be nice to reinstate the background music so you don't hear other peoples conversations. The food is delicious but if customer service continues the way it is we will go elsewhere. Ashamed as we have been coming here for over 6 years.

Could have better service for dining guests.

Was a bit disappointed when we dined here on Saturday Night. We waited 1 hour for our dinner to be served, meanwhile we watched over 10 takeaway orders be processed. I thought dining guests would be given priority over takeaways however this was not the case. Food was really yum once it arrived!

Excellent food well prepared.

Got a chicken balti and peshwari nan carry out. The food was excellent and there was enough to do a second serving the following night. The front of house staff were excellent and the place looked a great venue for a sit in meal as well. This compared well with any Indian restaurant i have used in the UK.

Amazing service and food

We have been once before and this time traveled from town out to Whitby to visit. The food is amazing and up there with the best Indian I have had and the service is very good. I wish I had left a tip for our server. Only down side is they are so poplar with lots of delivery going out the door we had to wait for a bit but thats a good sign of good food. Thanks and see you again soon.

Lacking customer setvice…

Disappointed with meal… Lost its authenticity. Tasteless by being over spiced and ‘out of a bag’ taste. More interested in takeaway meals than those dining in. Lost something for sure… Young staff not properly trained and lacking in customer service.

Truly first class!

We have been regular visitors to this restaurant for quite a while now, but have not recently taken the time to make a review. When a restaurant is visited regularly it is easy to "take it for granted", despite it's absolute excellence in service and food, which is what I have done here! So I am now confirming that this restaurant, headed by Asheesh and his amazing team of waiting staff and top class chefs is, in my view, THE most outstanding restaurant I have ever visited, which is why I keep returning!! If you live local you really should try it - if you don't live local, then make the trip to get there, it is well worth the effort.

Disappointing

Curries were standard and service okay but had to put our left overs into container which given the high price, was not very good service. When i mentioned this, they said they were busy - but we were only people there. Curries tasted like out of a jar. Wont be back.

Not for the first time we have just had a great meal delivered from this restaurant. Amazing flavors and huge amounts of meat in the 2 different dishes we had served with coconut rice. Made all the better by great phone and delivery people to complete it all

Amazing place for outing with friends and family. We were 14 in total. Staff recommended to start with special platter. There Paneer was so fresh and soft. Then we had variety of mains. Goat curry had an awsome texture, Lamb Pasanda was very creamy and we had around 10 different mains And they recommended bread baskets with some garlic naan. Garlic naan are the best in town. They were quite busy with takeaways though. Keep up same work Taj team Will again see you in few months when we back in wellington

A good Indian restaurant

Found this place by chance and had a very nice meal here. Service was great and the food was really tasty. They packed up the left over food for us to take away ( something we are not used to in the U.K.) Would definitely go back again
