Had lunch with friends today at the co op new menu was fabulous waitress was so nice and very accommodating the food was superb and the chef came to check we were all happy with our meals will be back!!!!
This establishment was busy and a massive round of applause for staff as they were rushed off their feet. Due to Covid-19 we had to stay seated a few times our drinks got left at the bar and service was slow. Perhaps like other places...leave a note on door just few words explaining and then our expectations would fall in line. The view is spectacular such a treasured spot. Our food came out faster then our drinks, at our table was mixed reviews. However I can only write about what I received. If you put on a menu Southern fried chicken with creamy potato mash, then that’s exactly what I’ll be expecting. I’m afraid I was so disappointed that they didn’t charge me, well actually I told them I’m not paying. I won’t go into too much detail not necessary. If you like views and a pub like experience than this is the place to visitMore
From arrival at the restaurant, to having a beer in the hand, it took 25 minutes. Apparently because there were lots of drinks orders. The restaurant was half-full due to Covid restrictions. Staff seemed cheerful and polite, but for some reason, service was incredibly slow.
Having been there a few times we decided to make a booking. We went to their site (not via Tripadvisor) which has a main menu across the top and a photo, clicked the Book Now button and obtained a confirmed booking for 11am on Sunday....When we arrived they were still closed. Someone came to the door and said that they open at 11:30. When I told her that we had a booking for 11am she treated this as my problem and said that the web site says they open at 11:30am, which it does if you scroll to the very bottom of the page. I pointed to the Opening Hours sign at the door which said that they open at 10:30am on Sunday, and she said "we should get that fixed". So this place advertises three different sets of opening hours!
We were not offered anything at all to compensate us for our wasted time, and we went somewhere else.
We won't be going back, there are plenty of other places that are at least as good and that can manage to keep their advertised opening hours and booking system in sync and correct so that we don't waste our time.More
Waitering staff need some serious training.! Twice the girl was too lazy to come to the closest point to the guest for serving and passed meals directly in front of the faces of other guests. Where she was unable to reach, it didn’t occur to...her to ask if the “plate could be passed along please.” After a lengthy wait and asking twice, was my cocktail coming, it eventually turned up and once again was passed in front of guests faces across to me.
The food on my plate was essentially quite nice, but completely devoid of any green vegetables. I had asked the waitress to ask the chefs to cut my meat up for me (since I only have the use of one arm), which she wrote on her pad, but it was not cut up. Service was atrocious and meals and cocktails very expensive.More
Pros: good ambience. The kids meals are fun - build your own pizza, sundaes etc. Staff were fine, lots of free parking :) Good steak special and most of our meals were substantial and nice.
Cons: pumpkin cous cous was a bit dry and carby,...pizzas seemed to be made with commercial packaged pizza base, there were 6 of us on a Thursday night and it took an hour for meals to come out.
Question, why do some restaurants make you put your own leftovers in a doggy box? This is kinda embarrassing and messy, I wish staff could do this back in the kitchenMore
Went there last evening with a group of 14. we were all crammed together on a long table, the end of which was right up by the kitchen and serving hatch. The table was topped with rustic, sticky-feeling wooden planks - - didn't seem to...have had a good clean in a long time; no place mats, even paper ones would have been a big improvement. Lots of flies - we had to keep beating them off while eating.
It was very hot in there and we were blinded by having the sun in our faces refracting through the roof of the adjacent "conservatory" and dazzling reflections from the tables in there. It was empty - and no wonder! The westerly windows need sunshades!
Friendly, helpful staff, the usual "pub" menu, average prices. My chicken burger was very good - but served on a very small wooden board of dubious cleanliness, with sauces blobbed messily around it and the (very nice) chips came in what looked like a little enamel cat's bowl. The burger was very big and had to be dismantled in order to eat it - and it was very difficult to keep the food from going on to the grubby table top. My husband had the crispy pork belly - also very good. Some of our party were not so lucky! The chicken schnitzel was dried out and tough. One peson's nachos came with a lot of gunk on top and nothing on the nachos underneath - he left most of them.
Not a pleasant dining experience - won't be back any time soon!More
2 seniors and 2 adults. Got a bunch of appies to share, they were all good. Asked for the chicken wings to NOT be battered (the waiter explained they were dipped in batter then cooked, then pulled out and seasoned and cooked again), instead we...just wated them tossed in flour and fried with salt n pepper. Wings came out and they were great, cook did a great job and the seniors thoroughly enjoyed them. Thanks!More
Ordered Chicken schnitzel with mash and gravy which i found overly cooked and dry. Mash potatoe smelt and tasted burnt. I could have done a better job myself. Garlic bread was dry and overly toasted. Water served was warm, would’ve been nice served chilled. Coke...zero ordered was flat. Friendly waiter, however i feel the chef is lacking quality in food.More
