Had a meal from the recently published takeaway meal with my girlfriends family, we had a selection of pizzas and curry’s and had some absolutely lovely food. Very filling and very flavoursome. Food was washed down lovely with the draughts served from the tap. Definitely...recommend!More

We called in here for Sunday Lunch & had a very warm welcome from the staff and locals alike. The drinks were reasonably priced and the glass of sauvignon blanc was perfectly chilled, which is not the case in many pubs. I had the roast...chicken which was excellent, Er indoors had the quiche which was also excellent. The Royal Oak is what I would call a proper village pub, completely unspoiled and unmodernised.More

Sadly the beautiful location of this country pub was not enough to be very disappointed by the food we were served.Everything we had was deep fried including the mushroom! The chips were swimming in dark brown oil. The whole pub was tatty, tired looking and unclean.I wish...we had complained at the time,as we spent alot is money for drinks and food which was very poor.More

Heard about The Royal Oak through a friend. Very warm and welcoming. We had incredibly tastey food cooked to order which was at a very reasonable price considering the "nom" factor. Accommodation was comfortable and peaceful again at a very good price. Would highly recommend...here for a stay down on Dartmoor with it being on a main artery road yet feeling so far from the hussle and bussle of civilisation. Staff and owners all very friendly and genuinely happy to meet any needs. A true hidden gem 💎More
