We are first time visitors and kept driving past the restaurant. Finally decided to try some Italian and decided to try Scusa on a whim. We were able to get seated relatively quickly without reservations, although others were coming in with reservations, so if you...have a large party it may be something you would like to do in advance. We had the lobster ravioli appetizer special and the sauce was like a lobster bisque, DELICIOUS! Both of our entrees were amazing. You will definitely not be disappointed. Enjoy!!More

What a wonderful surprise to step out back & be transported into a quaint outdoor garden area to eat. Every dish from appetizer to entree to dessert was amazingly delicious!!

As a New York City born individual my expectations are higher than most when eating at an Italian restaurant. Generally food and service was OK. Flavors lacked authenticity. My wife's seafood/pasta entree was OK but the sauce was soupy and had too much garlic. The...seafood was hard to find in the pasta. I didn't see anything I liked do I went the the steak (rare). It was cooked to the right temperature but generally difficult to chew. Grizzly and tough. I left 50% on the plate.More

I previously gave Scusa's a 5-Star rating because everything about the restaurant was superb. However, my rating of the restaurant has plummeted to 3-Star because of poor service. The food at Scusa's is still great. The Garlic Bread Scusa could be a meal by itself,...and the Veal Scallopini was delicious. But, our enjoyment of the evening was ruined when the un-friendly waiter actually left our check and doggie bags for any leftovers on our table half-way through our meal, and seemed in a hurry for us to pay the bill and get out. None of the three of us had asked for doggie bags or the check. We were planning to enjoy the tasty food until the last bite. We wondered if we were being rushed because of a waiting-line, but several tables were open. There was no obvious reason for the rush to get us out of the restaurant. I left a note on the tab explaining my reason for the meager tip that I left. Hopefully, management will read this and hire new staff.More

We loved our meal at Scusa. The staff were wonderful; very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Our dinners were delicious and the Tiramisu was the best my husband has ever had. We found the restaurant on TripAdvisor! Thank you! We will be going back soon.

Of all the years coming to Tahoe, this is the first time here. Food and service was excellent, had the Lobster Ravioli appetizer, it was very tasty, the sauce it was in should have been bottled for sale.

My husband had just passed his real estate broker's examination at Dept. Of Real Estate headquarters in Sacramento, and we decided to head to Lake Tahoe for a couple of chill days. First night after arrival (at a VERY mediocre hotel (reviewed on Booking dot...com), we headed to Scusa, our first foray into dining in a restaurant in over a year. The food was lovely, especially the Dover sole done with sliced grapes and tomatoes in a champagne sauce...CONGRATS to the chef on that one!More

Feeling like Italian food, we arrived as Scusa was opening at 5 hoping to beat a crowd, but we did not need to worry about that. Being at 50% capacity with COVID, we were well spaced out. The waiter was on top of the service...we received providing bread and plenty of water refills. The food was good and the wine that was chosen for us was a perfect pairing.More

Oh my gosh! This was the most delicious dinner I have experienced on my week long California Mom-Daughter trip! We both ordered the Greek salad and it was amazing! I had the Spinach Linguini with Vegetables, while my daughter had Lobster Ravioli. We both agreed...that hers was amazing but mine was incredibly wonderful. It was chockful of lovely Mediterranean vegetables and had a delicious zesty sauce. The atmosphere is just okay but the food is something you do not want to miss.More

We went for our anniversary dinner last night and couldn't be more pleased. We had the Scusa garlic bread for an appetizer. It was delicious, large portion. Too big for the two of us. My husband had the special, sole over garlic mashed potatoes with...steamed veggies. I had the chicken with ravioli. It came with capers, black olives, sun dried tomatoes, and steamed veggies. For desert I had the bread pudding and he had the tiramisu. Both were delicious.More
