On a cold and rainy day we walked into this cosy, warm fire lit venue. The menu is not very extensive and maybe that is why all the dishes were excellent! The staff, especially Tiri was very knowledgeble, friendly and efficient. Would recommend this bistro to anybody.

Dear Estelle Thanks you so much for the beautiful review. We keep our menu not to big, as to make sure that (as far as possible) produce in season is used in our cooking. We hope to see you back here again. Warm regards, Karien More

We were heading home after a long weekend away and broke our trip to have lunch at the Harvest Table Bistro. It is in a beautiful setting and the staff and owner are great. The meal was ok but I am not easy to feed as I have some dietary restrictions. Big thumbs up to the team for being prepared... More

While staying at River Siding (Ou Stasie) on the other side of the river, we enjoyed having late afternoon drinks and delicious chocolate mud cake at the Harvest Table Bistro. Beautiful decor and I love the music they playing. The owner very friendly and always checking up on the guests to make sure that they are satisfied with service and... More

My husband and I decided to take a last minute trip to Ceres with our boys (3 and 6). We passed this bistro on the way into Ceres at lunch time and decided to turn around and give it a go. There is a lovely outside area with play park, pool and trees to climb so we sat and watched... More

We ate there recently following a school sporting event. It just looked like a nice place to eat. So the service wasn't exactly great. The menu on the other hand was. I craved a decent hamburger for the longest time and I wasn't dissapointed. My daughter got the ribs. O MY HAT! Best ribs we ever had. Ever. Do yourself... More

Hallo Ben-Herman Thanks so much for your feedback. We pride ourselves on our hamburgers and especially our Mississippi Pork Ribs. I will definitely convey the compliment to our kitchen team. Sorry about the service...we've been going through a bad patch with waiters. Things will be back to normal next time you come around. Best regards Reint More

We were en route south from Prince Alfred's Hamlet, and never having found much in Ceres, thought we'd keep on trucking and maybe miss lunch when we saw signs for the Harvest Table Bistro. This place is almost in the middle of nowhere, but boast quite an eclectic menu with an emphasis on world food, including great ribs, north India... More

Good wholesome food in the country. The owners are wonderful and really warm and welcoming. The staff - especially Terri, is amazing! Good value for money.

Was wonderfully accommodated to watch the rugby but then when it came to ordering food!. Pork neck steak turned out to a crumbed piece of bacon and the chef had the audacity to get annoyed with us as the patrons when we challenged her on this product! Not a good move. Owners not available to address the situation. Before the... More

Gerda Not a good move to review your restaurants competition! Especially when your husband was so intoxicated by that time, that he used pirate-like language referring to our cooks female parts in front of paying customers. The bill was R500 because he has been drinking since 3pm that day. Incidentally he apparently made a similar scene the previous weekend when... More

The Harvest Table Bistro in the original mill room pays homage to this fertile valley’s proud fruit growing legacy. We combine fresh local produce and hearty peasant-style local dishes with influences from further afield, from Cameroon and Zimbabwe to France, Italy or Argentina, giving them a contemporary, modern twist. The Harvest Table is open daily from 08:00 to 17:00 and on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings (other arrangements can be made). Breakfast is served until 11:30. On Sundays the bistro makes way for a full-blown buffet feast with tables groaning under delectable meat dishes, loads of local vegetables, salads and puddings. So be sure to reserve your table for this one, because it is already a firm favourite amongst locals! We are closed on Mondays, but breakfast will be available for hotel guests. A special harvest dish will be served in your room on the evenings that the restaurant is closed.
