We were there as it was recommended. To be honest the food was below average and the whole restaurant lives just from the fact that this is one of the oldest buildings in Quebec. The service was terrible and they do know that lost of...More

Pretty mediocre food. The staff was great. But I would not go again, and I would NOT send a friend to eat here. The house wine made you grimace.

We went here for dinner as they had beef Wellington on the menu. But it was overcooked and not a good recipe. Very touristy and expensive for what you get. There are many other places that are much better in the old city!

We went to Aux Aciens Canadiens last week. I had the Beef Wellington and the beef was very tough (ordered med-rare). This restaurant is very touristy, with waitstaff in traditional costumes. This might appeal to some but we found it cheesy. Our food came out...More

The atmosphere is wonderful -- the restaurant is housed in an old residence on St. Louis and has retained its traditional charm with low ceilings and rustic appointments. We had the daily special which includes beer or wine, entree, dessert and coffee or tea for...More

I did not have the poutine although Suspect each restaurant has its own version. Poutine has gone way beyond the fries, gravy and basic cheese curds of yesteryear.
