Cozy dining room with classic québécois cuisine. Tourtére was to die for. There was a nice pre fixé option which was a wonderful way to try a number of dishes. Bring stretchy pants, the food is delicious and heavy!

This was recommended to us by our AmEx travel agent; the restaurant lived up to the hype; authentic cuisine, atmosphere, and décor. The dishes were all-round excellent! Just a short walk from the Fairmount Frontenac, very convenient! Highly recommend!

Aux Anciens Canadiens is my favourite taste of Quebec City. I have dined here consistently for over 25 years. The building that houses the restaurant is a classic old 17th century structure, a bit crowded inside, but it does offer a historic atmosphere. The lunch...More

Every time I travel to Quebec City I eat at this restaurant. On the last visit I had the pea soup and bison burger. The soup was nice, although I prefer the way I make it myself, mulching up the peas and adding in some...More

Did 3 course lunch (19.99) with wine and tried the meat pie, meat balls and pea soup. Meat pie was succulent inside and combined very well with the other parts of the dish. Meatballs were rich and smooth in texture. Pea soup was simple, but...More

This is a place with great atmosphere, excellent service, very tasty food served in generous portions in a grand old building; get there early to avoid the line-up or make a reservation

After an amazing breakfast at our bnb, a late lunch/early dinner on the prix fixe menu (prior to 5:45) was perfect. The servers were all pleasant and welcoming and the food was tasty.

I did not have the poutine although Suspect each restaurant has its own version. Poutine has gone way beyond the fries, gravy and basic cheese curds of yesteryear.

Sorry I just saw your question. Reservations are recommended during the peak season but mid-week might me ok.

There is no parking lot associated with the restaurant. There are some parking meters in the area (the number of the parking space has to be entered into a special meter closeby and can be paid with cash or a credit card... More
