This was one of our nicer choices during our stay. We were in the back room which was actually nice and a bit quieter. The service was on point. The food was good. Another unique French Onion Soup in Quebec City.

For fine dinning, the price was very fair. The server was very caring and helpful. However, personally, the taste was too strong and salty for me.

Chez Bouley uses regionally sourced food. While this is not a new concept, there aren't many restaurants that use ingredients from Northern Quebec. My husband and I both ordered the same and very much enjoyed our meal. I finished off the evening with a pot of tea made with herbs from Ungava. Great atmosphere and service. Reservations recommended

Really appreciated the excellent meal preparation and variety in their menu. Loved our shared charcuterie platter, scallops and monk fish, and beef cheeks. Nice atmosphere and decor. Only one issue was our server was a bit rushed and did not inform us of the daily specials - one of which I would have ordered once I found out about it... More

We didn't have a reservation , so sat at the bar. So glad we decided to do that. The food is excellent. First, the onion soup which was thick and infused with a beer broth. amazing. then we had a dish that had cheeks of bison, carrots, and was one of the most memorable meals I have had in a... More

We had a wonderful meal at Chez Boulay. It is a restaurant that specializes in Canadian cuisine featuring local products and seasonal dishes. The staff was very friendly and explained the various options on the menu. There were four of us for dinner and each one of us raved about the taste of our meal and enjoyed sharing the different... My wife and I had Chez Boulay recommended to us by another foodie friend, and so we booked a reservation well in advance. After meandering around the streets for a bit, we decided to stop in 30 minutes before our reservation time to see if they could take us. After seeing them turn away some people before us (without reservations),... More

Initially our destination was a less expensive bistro on St. Jean but the wait was too long. We knew Chez Boulay Bisstro had a great recommendations & the owner was Chef Boulay, owner of Restuarant St. Amour where we had reservations the following night. We were not disappointed. The variety of food choices and wine was extensive. They specialize in... More

Travelling with three friends from Toronto and Los Angeles, I chose this restaurant a little over a month in advance based on the stellar reviews. We've all travelled extensively and enjoy fine dining, and we unanimously agreed this was a standout meal. (We were met with a rude hostess in the beginning- but luckily the evening turned around quickly from... More

Description
Confit goose and duck leg parmentier, potatoes with mushrooms and fir tree essence, birch syrup vinaigrette: these are a few examples of what can be found on the menu at Chez Boulay – Bistro Boréal. On rue Saint-Jean in Quebec City since 2012, the restaurant places a value on the boreal region, especially the produce from the vast wilderness of northern Canada. For the last five years, the Bistro has been a popular destination because of our passionate chefs. Come meet our team and enjoy a memorable Nordic experience.

Five years after the opening of Chez Boulay – Bistro Boreal, Arnaud Marchand and his team innovate and export their culinary talent into this new gastronomic adventure: the Comptoir boreal.

In our charming and warm space in the heart of Quebec City, you will find pastries, sandwiches and ready-made meals that emphasize the value of the produce from our region. Foodies and clients on the go can come and enjoy snacks and meals that are out of the ordinary.
