Can't say enough about this restaurant - service food and ambience were excellent. Had drinks, dinner and breakfast there. Good value for the money.

We stayed in Hotel Frontenac and the bright red roof of the Bistro was rather eye catching. We arrived early and there were few in the restaurant. Seating was comfortable and spacious with warm ambience. We ordered onion soup, pasta, seafood risotto, duck leg, rib...More

This place is right across the street/park from the Frontenac, so after visiting their at the 1608 Lounge it just makes sense mathematically to have your next drink at 1640 especially if you are drinking your way across town back to your accommodations elsewhere and...More

Stopped here at mid-afternoon for a glass of wine with plate of cheeses as we sat at a sidewalk table where we could people-watch and enjoy the tunes of an excellent street musician.

The atmosphere of this restaurant is its top feature, a charming bistro in the heart of the walled city. The food was quite good, too. The onion soup was the best I've ever had. A great place for people watching and a very pleasant meal.

We had a lovely meal here, bison burger, beautifully cooked and presented, but the thing that made the evening was the service provided by Nicole. Her attention was pleasant and efficient and added to the welcoming feel of the bistro.

I’m getting fed up with restaurants which over time start to lower their dining quality. Maybe saving money and using cheaper ingredients? Anyway I’m at this restaurant a year later and it’s still a super value for what you get —// I’m always skeptical regarding...More

Yes. We got a table for two without a reservation, even though the restaurant was busy. Just remember, there's no guarantee a table will be available especially if you go in a big group.

To the best of my recollection, the 4 of us had dinners that did not contain dairy. The staff was very accommodating, so I'm sure it won't be an issue.
