We always order take out from here , and also eat there . Chicken is done on BBQ not on electrical rotisserie , there fore the flavour is totally different . They also make biffana sandwiches and churiso also on BBQ. They have wine and imported beer . Great prices and freshly made to order ! Love the place !

Food was alright. Chicken was the star for sure. That's for sure. Somewhat affordable, surprising fresh salad btw. Very small hole in the wall. But wonderful ambiance. I can see the staff. Getting overwhelmed and service suffering although. But all in all, it felt like we were somewhere else. I loved the experience. So walk past the take out counter... More

The worse service I ever had my whole life (and I visited several countries). The food is good, that for sure. But the waiter was very disagradable, abrupt, and impatient. No eye contact, no smile, interrupting me abruptly and throwing everything on the table. Moreover the dish I was served was not exactly what I ordered, I ate it without saying anything... More

Portugalia is a landmark for Portuguese chicken. The original owners are gone, new generation took over and renovated the small dining area behind the kitchen. Was there recently for a quick lunch where we shared a salad, half-charcoaled grilled chicken and fries (about $20). Food is great, service efficient. This is a great place to call for take-out.

blink and you might miss it.limited signage and a grafitti scralled building may make you second guess your destination.enter through the open kitchen to a miniscule dining room.find the washroom ,if you can ,behind the hidden door.the staff looks sketchy, but friendly.but forget all that, you must come here for the grilled chicken.it must be brined first,as there is no other way... There is a small seating area & bar in behind the take out/cooking area when you first walk in. Its a casual low key spot with friendly service. The chicken, chorizo, lamb and sides were all delicious and very well priced. Also, can't beat the price of their wines :)

Not a fancy place by any means. Cuisine is as basic as a can be. Charcoal , fire and meat ( ribs, steaks, pork sandwich and of course the chicken) . Don t expect ambiance but expect a yummy treat. Not an extensive menu and the sides are even more basic but the meat and poultry is what you are... More

Our last night in Montreal and we were looking for a tasty chicken takeout. A quick check on the internet brought us to the Rotisserie Portugalia's website. We went down en famille to order, (all food is cooked to order- 45 minutes notice recommended) the guys behind the counter, especially the owner, could not have been nicer and spoke great... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
