It probably seems strange to go out for Italian food in Montreal, but it was fantastic! The food was great, the salad bar was interesting and tasty and included a lovely Fennel salad. I had a filet of salmon with pesto thin spaghetti. The ambience is beautiful and atmospheric and very comfortable. The staff is friendly and well-trained. And it... More

We were looking for a simple place with simple food, to satisfy a somewhat fussy pre-teen diner. This place worked perfectly. We walked in without a reservation on a Friday evening (April), and had no trouble getting a table (admittedly, it was early, around 5:30 or 6), even though the place had plenty of patrons. The service was very friendly... More

Used TA to help choose this venue based on reviews, food type and location. Ambiance is pleasant and our server was friendly and efficient, Superb garlic butter was served with mediocre rolls. Dinner was lasagna with meat sauce, Duo Sur Saint Dennis : 2 manicotti with ricotta & spinach topped with Mozzarella served with spaghetti and meat sauce, Dish needed... More

This restaurant is simply amazing. We randomly went 10 years ago and keep going back to it ever since, when we are in Montreal. They make their own pasta, meat sauce is amazing, meal includes salad bar and bread with delicious garlic butter. I have tasted other meals and it was delicious but I keep going back to the spaghetti.... More

The food here is nice but if you want pasta dishes as found in the Italian Peninsular, then you will be in for a disappointment. The meals included salad from the salad bar, which wasn't bad. The bread was nice, too, perhaps because we were famish. We had Le Grand Prix - lamb chops with spaghetti and pesto; and Le... More

If you love pasta and enjoy eating in an European old world decor restaurant you will love to eat here. Right on Saint Paul not far from Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel for a Gospel Concert. Close to the old port, tourist attractions, restaurants, art galeries and just walking around on a sunny day and into the night. Montreal is the city described... More

A decent and lively place in Old Montreal to get a meal. Serving sizes are not huge but the food is pretty good. Note that it is not the same as the Old Spaghetti Factory chain as elsewhere in Canada. This is pasta with French-Canadian flair.

It is a great spot if you have fussy kids (we had a need for pasta and butter, no sauce!). Spaghetti Factory delivered. Food was fine and service was great. Super easy Old City location.

In Old Montreal. Great pasta dishes, with salad bar. Prices are good and the food too. Old historical house setting. Service is friendly. Love all their pasta and veal dishes!

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
