The atmosphere of this small French bistro was as expected (from our 1st visit). It was a warm night & the waitress opened the window doors that open overhead (similar to garage doors) since there is no AC. Thus you are inside but similar to be sitting outside. we were there with a family of 4. The wine was just... More

This small yet quaint French restaurant provided one of the best meals I have had in ages. The menu is table d'hôte with a good variety of choices. Service is impeccable. Benjamin is a gracious host. I won't hesitate to return when next in Montreal again!

This smallish bistro on Rachel east reminds one of similar places in France, though the pleasant Cuban music was puzzling. However, the food is definitely French and very good indeed. We started with excellent gazpacho and duck terrine, followed by equally good salmon tartare and a nice bavette with mushrooms and caramelized shallots. Service was friendly and unhurried. Only niggle... More

My family and close friends decided to visit this restaurant after reading all the great reviews. After figuring out the Metro and walking in the cold, we reached this warm haven of great food where we were greeted with smiles as warm as the restaurant. The owner immediately seated us, and offered translations for menu items and accurate insight on... More

I visited Station F with some business partners for lunch. The location was suggested by the client. The restaurant has a very simple, clean decor. We sat out on a very spacious comfortable patio. The venue was simple yet diverse. I ordered the crunchy veggie appetizer to start. It was a medley of perfectly prepared veggies. For lunch I had the... More

This is a very authentic French bistro experience. The menu is all French, so our waiter helped us decipher it into English. I ended up with beef cheeks, mashed potatoes and green beans! It was melt in your mouth delicious once I was able to get passed “what” I was actually eating! It is a little pricey but worth the... More

I've been to Station F a couple of times for dinner and a couple of times for lunch in the past few years. I'm never disappointed, nor are the friends who accompany me. I've introduced this out-of-the-mainstream bistro to many over the years. All have adopted it with enthusiasm. The decor is simple and nicely modern. The service is friendly... More

Staying in Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie

Neighbourhood Profile
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie has one of Canada's most prominent Italian communities, with Little Italy concentrated along the convivial bends of Saint-Lawrence Boulevard. Known for its fantastic bars and authentic Italian fare, the domain includes the Jean-Talon Market, the largest public market in North America. Open year-round, sunny months see fruit and vegetable stalls set up outside the main chalet, while blustery weather draws crowds indoors to meat and cheese sellers, spices and truffles stalls, and for regional delicacies such as rare Charlevoix lamb. While the market dictates what's fresh for local restaurateurs, visitors can please more than their palates, taking in the Renaissance architecture and frescos of Madonna della Difesa, the picturesque Rue Saint-Rominique with its cheerful homes and splendid gardens, or the ornamented thoroughfare of Plaza Saint-Hubert.
