The restaurant we planned to go to was closed so we ended up here, unsure of what we'd be getting. And I must say, we were pleasantly surprised! The restaurant doesn't look like much but I have no complaints about the food. The serving sizes were generous and very, very good. The restaurant was spick and span, and though outdated,... More

I was looking for a late meal on my first night in Montreal and was pleasantly surprised to see that Fameux was still open (it was around 10 PM) I had the smoked meat sandwich and poutine. Both were excellent! I was originally going to wait to visit Schwartz's deli for the honors but am glad I stopped here. Service... More

Stayed in Montreal 4 days, found this local hot spot the first night and came back every day there after! Portions huge and a great price! The service was friendly and very helpful in translating words we did not understand. We will absolutely be back!!!😀

This is, from the 100 restaurants I went in Montreal, the worst. Today, my girlfriend and I went in there for brunch to try it out. We entered and we got told, "just sit somewhere". So we sit at a spot with dishes on the table (because there were dishes on all empty tables). We even asked a waitress if... More

Very good lunch (tried meal of the day), delicious breakfast. Very nice service. And all this for very good price. I was 3 days in Montreal and visited La Fameux twice.

As newcomers to Montreal, we ended up in Mont-Royal to feel out the neighbourhood and even got a key cut and picked up a few slices of bacon at the local boucherie and some new vapes ..... by then we were hungry and this place looked like it had just what we wanted: poutine, local brewed beer and they even... Seriously, the service is okay, the people working there are more or less nice. But you tell me how you can forget to put cheese in a 13$ poutine !? Seriously I was so mad at you when I get back home. Yes it was to go, so I won't go back there even in an other life. Regarding the... More

Just around the corner near the Mont Royal station, this is one of my favorites! They have some combos (table d'hôte) which will make your day, with several options on the menu! The food is delicious and the waitresses are most of the times very nice and might even suggest you some plates. Come, eat well and be well served!

Went there with some friends and really enjoyed the smoked meat sandwich. Found the draught "Vieux Montreal" tasted like watered down bud light but the waitress had told me some ppl like it and some ppl hate it...I should've figured the ppl who "liked it" drank bud on a regular basis lol. She was still very nice to us and... More

Staying in Parc du Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Parc du Mont-Royal
Montreal was named for this hilly highland, where the tallest spot in the city overlooks its most extensive parkland. The greenspace of Parc du Mont-Royal is an outdoorsman's dream, with hiking trails and nature walks that cater to every season and level of athlete. In the winter, cross-country skiers, tobogganers, and ice skaters don their equipment by Beaver Lake and its pavilion, while the warmer months bring families and competitors to the pitches of Jeanne-Mance Park for tennis, soccer, football, baseball, volleyball, or a dip in the community pool. A perfect spot for a stroll or a picnic, the forest foliage is dotted with sculpture art and offers views of some of Mont-Royal's oldest edifices, the towering St. Joseph's Oratory and the mausoleums of Notre-Dame-des-Neiges. Home to musical celebrations and twilight snowshoeing alike, visit here to walk, write, rest, think, or just be.
