Great service, staff very helpful, attentive and professional. The garlic naan, biryani rice, veal karahi, eggplant and tandoori chicken all perfectly prepared and nicely seasoned. 786 Halal will be a regular stop when visiting Montreal !

I first went to 786 about 13 years ago and I tried the Fish fry as well as the Dal mash and the Nan bread and the Raita that comes with it!!! In summer the mango lassi is wonderful! Desserts are good too but usually brought home since no more room for extra food after a meal! The Regular fish... More

We know most South Asian restaurants in Montreal, and 786 Halal is among our top 3. The food is spicy, not too greasy, they have specialties such as Lahore fish and pumpkin curry, and the staff is always very helpful and friendly. A must!

Easily the best Pakistani-Indian food we have ever had and the 4 of us that went are all big guys who love to eat and have eaten at many Indian and Pakistani restaurants. We ordered about 10 dishes with Naan for 4 guys and waiter tried to talk us out of it since it would be a lot of food...very... More

You might almost miss this non-descript Pakistani restaurant on Jean Talon. The entrance is a single narrow down sandwiched between two larger shop fronts. Once inside the setting is simple, and the food is a festival of flavours. The servers have a great sense of humour and helped us pick out the best dishes. Highly recommend.

786 Halal had been suggested to us by some friends, given we like traditional “Indian” style cuisine. Decor is very nice, and the food is very good!

Tastes great. Good service. Try the keshmerian tea before you leave. Karahi was great too. For sure I will visit it more often. Pricing was kind of reasonable!

Everything is cooked in the same tomato paste. If you want to have the worst experience ever then please go to 786 Halal restaurant in Montreal. Dal, kabab, chicken or anything is cooked in tomato paste. We ordered channa masala, guess what, they poured half a can of chick pea into a plate of tomato paste. Please don't waste your... More

Staying in Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension

Neighbourhood Profile
The most ethnically diverse of all of Montreal's neighbourhoods, Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension (or, Parc-Ex) stands at the city's centre, a hub for rail and metro traffic. Starting at the old station where the Canadian Pacific used to disembark, the brick-and-mortar surroundings of Parc-Ex have a homey feel, with leafy lawns and bicycle lanes seamlessly incorporated into the landscape. With prominent Greek and Spanish communities, Greektown includes the tastiest stops for brochettes and shawarma, and local bars entertain an excitable soccer fanbase. Jerry Park and Stade Uniprix stand ready for sports diehards to enjoy a game, while the the Complexe Environnemental Saint-Michel and Le Taz skate parks invite athletes to train and compete. Though built for the active and best by day, Cirque du Soleil, the TOHU center for arts, and the Le Boulevard shopping centre offer diversions for those who wish to stay late.
