Good food, excellent value, the warm atmosphere of an old parisien restaurant and only one block off very touristy Saint Denis in the heart of "quartier latin" make it a far better experience than most places around. No extraordinary or very fancy savour, but good products, well prepared classics and very reasonable prices - including for the wine.

Simply hands down my favorite meal in Montreal. The restaurant reminded me of being in Europe. Everything about the space was rustic. The food warm and homey. I truly enjoyed every bite!

I love this place! Beautiful courtyard terrace seating, and the food was just wonderful - I had two different fish entrees which were excellent, I had gazpacho, fantastic, and the best creme brûlée I ever tasted. Good wine too. Great service, great wait staff, fast and responsive.

We just came here late afternoon for a beer. We sat on the back terrace and it was beautiful and relaxing. Great place to chill with a beer. The back terrace makes you feel like you are in a garden instead of the city.

I invited five fellow co-workers / employees on a Thursday night after a long day. The food was really nothing special. Or actually, it was specially nothing. Save for the fries that were really awful (fries that taste a full day of various stuff that was fried in the same oil... yummy isn't it). So for the food it would... More

We were a group of 14 people honoring the departure of one of our colleagues and I had heard some pretty good things about the food in this restaurant (as far as lunch goes). The food was fine. The service (or lack thereof) made it a huge, huge disappointment. Reservations were made 3 days prior to our arrival so they... More

On offer here is typical bistrot fare in a quiet and subdued setting. We were staying across the street at the Héritage Victorien B&B and we came here for dinner, not once but twice, in the course of an 8 night stay in Montreal. We highly recommend this lovely little restaurant. The bavette frites, magret de canard, the various starters,... More

Ordered the fusilli in cream sauce and lobster on the waiter's recommendation. Sauce was too soupy and lobster was tasty but in small portions for the price. Enjoyed the gazpacho soup which I had never eaten before. Service good, had to use the ladies washroom as men's was out of order.

The tables in the backyard under the trees are very agreeable. The food is simple and tasty, although I could see later on that the kitchen is a mess, so I was wondering about the food storage, the freshness of the ingredients, and so on.

Outside seating and good food at reasonable prices. Try the bavette - very good. The young waiter was friendly and welcoming. Why spend more elsewhere?

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
