My friends and I always congregate here to chat and catch up. It's great for meetings and informal gatherings. During peak hours it's bustling and super busy, the happening place to be. During slow hours it's super chill and relaxing, with good music softly playing in the background. The walls are red brick, or tiled in colorful patterns, and always... More

The food was very fresh and the plate is quite big. I have not been to any other place where for under eight dollars I can get a breakfast, coffee, orange juice and some fruit. Friendly staff and the atmosphere is great. This place is big and can get actually quite busy on weekends.

Stopped by for brunch on Sunday at this busy spot on St Denis street on the Plateau. Food and service was very good. Enjoyed the the eggs and chocolate crèpes washed down with a breakfast beer ! Le Cheval Blanc - a wheat beer - by a local micro brew still going strong in Montreal after more than 20 years.

This was the best, most scrumptious meal of the six days we've been in Montreal and Quebec City - hands down! Although the service is a bit slow, the food and prices more than make up for it, and the outdoor terrace dining is really nice too!

Can't complain about the quality of the food or their presentation for the price you pay! The 3 stars draw from two factors: if you compare it to other fancy places, the food is tastier a bit more and feels being given enough attention while preparing it! You can't feel that much of a quality in this place, however, for... More

When I go for brunch, I want to eat EVERYTHING so that’s why I love going to Petite Marche on the weekends. They offer a $15 brunch menu with 27 different choices which includes omelets, egg benedicts, and salt & sweet crepes. In addition to the main dish, they all come with bacon, ham, sausage, eggs (only if your main... More

I have been to this restaurant quite often as every second Sunday evening of the month they have a lovely flamenco show. On my most recent visit, with two friends, we had a most satisfying and tasty meal. Wine is available by the glass as well, and very interesting, herbed warm bread is brought to the table first...but watch out... More

I arrived with a group that had a reservation; however, we ended up be more people than expected. This was the start of our problems on a moderately busy Saturday evening. Our group had to be split in two to accommodate us, and it appears this resulted my half the group being forgotten. Basically, it took two hours for our... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
