I stopped by to get a few sushis to go early a few weeks ago and was satisfied with the quality. I found there was too much rice and the grains were somehow bigger than I am used to (a different sort of rice maybe). The seasoning of the rice was a bit bland as well and the sea urchin... More

Going to Montreal every year for the Grand Prix, made way for us to come to Tokyo Sushi for at least one dinner. We are always greeted very well by the staff, who are friendly, courteous and make the night a great time, every time. Every year has been magical, with incredibly-presented food, wonderful service, even from the guys making... More

We stopped in without a reservation. It was busy but they took us. Food was good/standard, but service struggled to keep up with the number of tables. Location is good and the decor is very nice. I'd stop in again.

We stayed at the Hotel Epik (see review) and decided to have dinner at Tokyo as it is next door. Service was great - timely and attentive. Food was tasty, excellent sushi. We also had Miso soup and seaweed salad - fantastic. Some at our table ordered vegetarian sushi and thought it was prepared well. Priced reasonably.

We have been coming to this restaurant for 10 years but we had not been there recently. We had lunch yesterday at Tokyo. We ordered sashimi with a roll and the sashimi included ebi, which is a cooked shrimp sushi. What a joke, the sashimi was thin and stale. This was a really bad Japanese lunch place. I was so... We entered Tokyo Sushi at around 730pm and seated ourselves at an open table. The place is small and tables are cramped closely. We were served water and wet towels, which was quick. Then the lady came back and took away our towels after we used them. After 5mins she realized she forgot to give us the menus so she... More

We went to this restaurant on a Monday for lunch time. We were received like we were disturbing the host. Not a good feeling. I was with my daughter and we good sushi plates for a price that reflect Old Montreal area. We have not seen any drink menu and were offered only water. The sushi were good but for... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
