The sushi at Sho-Dan is great. Definitely a good choice for when you're looking for a finer sushi choice. The seaweed salad is also STRONGLY recommended, it's so unlike and so much more refined the typical seaweed salad at low-price sushi shops and stands. The Mont Blanc dessert is also really good, although I would say it isn't entirely and... More

The food was ok, good choice of fish. The service was good too, not the best sushi place but it was a good place.

The deco. is plain but calm and the service is good and very friendly. The quality of food is middle of the road as far as sushi is concerned and the menu though lacks imagination but is solid. Portions are reasonably fair but price is a bit higher than what the quality and quantity represent. A good place for business... More

Every time I go to Montreal eat at Sho-Dan is a must! I usually visit 4 times a year and the sushis and sashimis are always super fresh and deliciously tasty! Keep it up!

Very eloquent Japanese Sushj restaurant in downtown Montreal. The sushi maker had such passion. For his job it was a delight to watch him lwork with such attention to detail and concentration. The salmon teriyaki was superb and for deserve definitively worth trying Mont Blanc to die for. Loved it so much came back a second time this month

I used to love eating at Sho-Dan when i used to live in Montreal. It was a really solid place. Now... it's just another sushi joint and its dishes are quite bland and similar. We didn't finish one plate and didn't want anything to go. The temperature was hot and sticky, when i asked someone to put some air on... More

Surprisingly good sushi in the heart of Montreal. We wanted a change of place restaurant while we were visiting, and this lace fit the bill perfectly. We tried an assortment of sushi and Japanese food, and everything was quite good. Sushi rolls were fresh and tasty. Overall, it was a solid place.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
