The food, service, and atmosphere was excellent. My husband took me there for my 55 (35) birthday dinner. All of our expectations were met by this restaurant. We left there feeling great and satisfied. Thanks for making my birthday dinner special in Montreal from Vancouver BC.

Bis is located in the heart of the shopping district around St. Catherine street. It is an excellent option for lunch. The lunch menu features two courses plus dessert. We had the barley risotto and the cannoli! Splendid!

I started off with a mixed salad, which you could was very fresh. As my main dish, I had the stuffed eggplant which is a great option for any vegetarians - it was delicious! All in all, dining here was a very pleasurable experience. My husband and I mutually agreed that there is nothing negative to say about the quality... More

We have eaten all over the world and this was a little piece of Italian heaven! The wait staff and maitre d were friendly and inviting and made us feel welcome for our entire meal and after dinner while we finished our bottle of wine. The food was beyond delicious and some of the best Italian food we've ever had!... More

#15 in Montreal, we thought we couldn't go wrong. Had to wait a few minutes to be seated at our reserved table. The server had a unique way about him that we didn't find comfortable. The food... unfortunately my best tasting dish was the single mini meatball I had as the amuse-bouche... I should have ordered pasta with meatballs. I... More

We visited Bis on a weeknight as we had been told by many friends they serve great Italian food. Upon entering the staff was welcoming and we were seated quickly (we made a reservation). We decided to order the lamb bolognese and the veal with polenta. After ordering we were offered complimentary house meatballs, a nice touch. The lamb bolognese... More

The atmosphere is nice however you must walk up stairs so not wheelchair or reduced mobility friendly. The service was friendly and attentive. The food however, was not nearly as good. The arancini were dry. The Spaghetti carbonara was inedible and disgusting (both my sister and I wouldn't even eat more than one bite. I had to share my veal... More

I came here with my boyfriend for the first time. The food, service and atmosphere was awesome! We loved everything we ordered. The manager came and checked on us to make sure everything was good a few times. He was very friendly and even walked us out at the end of the night. I highly recommend this place.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
