The food was delicious, lots of choice, lots of trolleys passing around. Sometimes it was difficult to understand what they were saying but that made it amusing. You eat too fast. Long queues butna quick turnover and certainly worth the wait. Are going back again

I went there last summer with a friend and it was a great experience! We had Dim sum and everything that came on the table was delicious and the service was courteous. I would go back anytime!

Lunched with friends on a Sunday at noon. Restaurant is packed so expect a 15-30 minute wait. Large dining room and smaller room. Noisy. Choose dishes from the roving food wagons.

We were hungry when we walked into this restaurant and came out full to the brim. We loved their Boston lobster cooked with ginger and shallot with noodles. The vegetables were done well and not overcooked. We actually came back 3 times in our 3 days stay in Montreal.

I got some steamed buns to take away for a meeting there. The choice was not overwhelming but they came hot and fresh (I did have to wait quite a while though). The bread was nice and fluffy but the BBQ filling was nothing to write home about. They come by 3 at 4.50 an order, neither very cheap nor... More

Good prices for delicious Chinese meal. Best deal is to go for noddle dishes during lunch time specials.

We had read about this restaurant as one of the best for dim sum in Montreal. This was not our first dim sum experience so maybe we were disappointed because the other places we tried were so good. It is located in Chinatown. I thought it would be an excellent choices. If you decide to try them: Be aware that... More

First of all, I am Chinese and from San Francisco so I think I know Chinese food. The dim sum here is as good as I can find in San Francisco for the price. Not high end, but, good solid food at a fair and cheap price, highly recommended. Get the chicken stick rice wrapped in leaves, mouth watering. Some... More

What makes a restaurant like a good mystery novel? They both have to be predictable. My wife and I went back (for the 20th time) to Kam Fung on the South Shore on Taschereau Blvd last night. We had our favourite dish. Cantonese show mein, Spring rolls and Salt and pepper shrimp. It is as served with enough time between... More

I was tired of eating conference sandwiches, so I asked where could I go for Dim Sum. This place was recommended to me as that's where the Chinese residents go to when they crave dim sum. They had a good variety to chose from the carts. The bill came out to $37.50 for 5 dishes, a coke, and pot of... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Bakeries, markets, restaurants, and buffets crowd the brightly graffitied streets of Chinatown, the city's aromatic destination for pan-Asian cuisine. Distinguished at its entry points by towering vermillion paifang gates, the compact neighbourhood acts as a focal point for the Chinese community, hectic with educational facilities, cultural centres, acupuncturists, and foreign-language newspapers. Especially vibrant in the warmer months, when the sweet smell of dragon beard candy along the pedestrian walks of Rue de la Gauchetière signal the beginning of the outdoor street fair season, Chinatown is a treasure hunter's dream, with enough knickknack and curiosity shops to tempt even the pickiest shoppers. The convivial vibe picks up after dark, when the area's active nightlife offers evening crowds their choice of drink, dance, and midnight snacks of pho or oysters. Chinatown's mix of new and old, with herbal remedies being sold alongside pop-culture DVDs, gives the area its own animated brand of moxie.
