There is nothing better than eating some filling, warm Ethiopian food on a cold spring day. Nil Bleu hit the nail on the head with its variety and generous servings. My sister and I ordered the platter for two. We started w/ the vegetarian appetizer and chose the meat as our main. Both dishes were presented beautifully with enough injera... More

Eating with your hands is apparently the Ethiopian way. Fro the start when a hot towel is brought to wash your hands, you know you're in for a treat. The big round pancake like injera with the toppings of your choice in a real treat for the eyes, nose and mouth. And once you've finished the toppings by pinching them... More

Very enjoyable food ( could be a little heavier on the spicy side though). Nicely prepared, and served with Quebec microbeers, and not those horrible mainstream beer brands. Friendly service, decent prices, spotlessly clean premises. This restaurant has been there for ages. We know why.

This is my second time here, I am currently involved in an executive Master's Program at McGill University where two of my colleagues are from Ethiopia, I offered them dinner here, and they were VERY excited. They were both yearning for flavors from home, and they have limited funds to afford dining out while at university. The hostess was from... More

IN this beautiful setting, that was like that of a luxurious African safari, we were served delicious, healthy food, that was artfully presented. The service was courteous, well informed, the wine selection was spot on, and was ideally matched to the food. The beef tartare (kitfo) was out of this world - tasty and a little pungent. The chicken gingible... More

This was my first experience of Ethiopian food ever. I liked the place from the very first moment we entered. It looked very modern and stylish. Our waitress was extraordinary during the entire evening, very professional, very kind and very attentive. We decided to take a tasting menu and all the food that we had was absolutely stunning, I enjoyed... More

Great food! Beautiful decor! Service though needs a lot of improvement in hospitality, reception, availability, being courteous, and, in better training of the personnel. I would like to go back for the food, but, won't due to poor service.

Hi Marianne, Thank you for your time for writing this review. It is with the feedback our guests provide that we are able to implement improvements. Wonderful experience. Waitress was helpful and accomodating. Very nice. The food was excellent. -- An experience in flavors. Really good food. Only reason Indo not give it a 5 is the drinks were watered down. Otherwise excellent!

Thank Anna D

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
