The only good thing I can say about this restaurant is the location. After we stood for 1.5 hours in line we run into absolutely inhospitable and even rude stuff. The food was so-so. The music was very loud. Looks like the place is only meant for tourists and I wouldn't go there again.

Picked this place while passing by (tourist). Noticed a lineup to the back of the building. Had a look, & suggested to my wife we eat here. Was even more impressed once we were seated. Outdoor seating within a gutted stone building. Live music. The ambience, service & food were excellent. The reason I am writing this now, is that... More

We stopped by for a drink on a hot day, nice setting for watching the world go by, I had a Virgin Mojito with raspberries (9 dollars) and my friend had a speciality coffee (10 dollars) Both were delicious. The food looked good although we didn't eat so can't confirm how it tastes.

The second visit to this lovely restaurant. I just wish we'd stayed there for dinner instead of being disappointed elsewhere. The beer was great and the food looked excellent.

This was an amazing place to take my mom for Mother's Day brunch. There was live jazz, and free roses given to every mom. It was truly a day I'll never forget. The ambiance and service was top-notch!

We were out walking and came across this restaurant and are so glad we did. We sat outside on the terrace for the jazz lunch and the terrace is beautiful! Service was reasonable with the crowd that was there. The noise level seemed high so if you were there to concentrate on the music, not good. The group did seem... More

We found this on TripAdvisor and then checked with our Concierge at the Westin, Chantal who highly recommended it . She was able to get us in and we loved it. Sat outside on the terrace/ patio. Amazing ambience, nice jazz music , wonderful waiter Antonin who was so attentive, so helpful and made it a great night. He helped... More

Very nice garden area with music. Great pizza and sangria. A nice place to sit and enjoy the music and wine in the heart of Old Montreal.

This place is sort of unique. Most of the restaurant is outdoors, under a tent-like structure. It is quite large with several levels. It also had live music, a nice touch. We both had savory crepes, which were very good and a nice size. This is a good alternative to rich sauces and heavy food.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
