Great vibe, awesome location and very good vietnamese cuisine. I had the sate soup with beef and it was very well prepared, came quick and was delicious!

I'm here weekly when in town.. it's very, very good. Just be sure to have cash. The red curry is superb, especially if you can have it with chicken, beef and shrimp.. the spicy soup is delish!

Although some might say this place is not much to look at or that it's not necessarily a place for a date I must disagree. I've been here many times with my girlfriend and we love it, Minh is great, he always checks up to see if everything is good, always a little sample of something and every tastes great.... More

We went for dinner at around 8 pm on a Friday night. It was PACKED. It was actually very messy, they seem to have trouble managing the amount of customers/bookings they have since we had to wait 30 minutes to get our table. The place is not cute, there is no nice atmosphere (they were playing the news on TV... More

Café Saigon, while not in the main foodies area, is offering very good value. In particular we love Genaral Tao Chicken. The fact that you can bring your wine is attractive. There is a Liquor Store (SAQ) 2 minutes away, opne until 10:00 PM. Service is fast. It's a good place to go before a show.

For anyone looking for quality food, excellent service, reasonable prices and BYOB, this is definitely the place to choose. We often choose this place for family gatherings and were never disappointed. The crew is always very happy to bring samples of food that they serve. We will be going back soon and highly recommend a visit there.

My first time to this tucked away restaurant, although I have walked by hundreds of times.. I live close by and really wanted a nice warm soup on a cold winter day. Minh was a very gracious host, had me try 3 different broths so I could choose, even offered a sample piece of general tao chicken on the side.... More

The restaurant isn't much to look at from the outside but inside it was bustling. The service was quick and friendly and the food was tasty. The lemongrass beef with vermicelli was particularly good. Warning: cash only.

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
