Our party of 45 was booked in to Brisket Montreal for lunch. The restaurant staff were incredibly welcoming and had prepared really well for our visit. The chef first came out to us and explained how the meat is prepared and showed the piece of beef he would be using for our sandwiches. The food was excellent - very tasty... More

Call me crazy but a Texas brisket sandwich should not taste this horrible! It's embarrassing to even relate it to being a "Texas Style". The brisket was so dry and crumbly that not even the over slopped on BBQ sauce could keep it together. It was served on what appeared to be a pretzel bun not really sure and there... More

For my first ever poutine I think this one was quite authentic and it was recommended by the locals that took me there. I really enjoyed it and the other meals at the table looked great. The smoked beef was also very good - we ordered a sampler side and this was awesome...and we left very well satisfied indeed. Visit... More

This restaurant a few years ago used to be quite good, perhaps not as good as famous Schwartz's but good enough in offering smoked beef. Now the taste is horrible. Since the restaurant has become a restaurant for groups, the quality dropped quickly, from the food/beer selection, to management/service. I only go there if I'm with a group. Even that... More

Our family enjoyed a great dinner here while on vacation. My husband's smoked meat sandwich was stuffed full. We've never seen so much meat on a sandwich. Our one son's grilled cheese sandwich was huge and made with delicious fresh bread. Our other son's "hot dog" was more like sausage, and was served on a very large fresh roll. I... More

Nice poutine with cheese and smoked meat. An opportunity to try a Canadian classic and a Montreal specialty. However, there is a large selection of other varieties of poutine available (although much on the long list is often not available).

This was our last stop on the Mile End Montreal food tour. The menu was chosen by the tour company. We all had a beer and half a sandwich. The smoked meat was quite good and the rye bread was fresh. I did not have time to try their poutine which they are famous for. Founded in 1901, Brisket Montreal... More

The food and service was okay but nothing special. We tried the smoked meat and also had some local beer and poutine. The meat was overly fatty.

I've had a lunch in Brisket because I need to catch up a train in the Central Train Station (which is less than 10-minutes walk away) but I do not want to eat inside the Station. Since it is a Sunday afternoon in which many restaurants are closed around the Train Station, Brisket is one of the limited options for... More

Staying in Quartier International

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier International
Designed to connect and beautify unused space, today the Quartier International is like a transversal piece of modern art. The distinctive design flair is most apparent at its focal point, the Palais des Congres, a convention centre and retail space with a multi-coloured glass exterior and an equally bold interior motif. Outdoors too, the Quartier is friendly towards public art exhibits along its stylish, plotted city squares, with extra-wide sidewalks meant to encourage long strolls and shaded benches available for absorbing the atmosphere. Fresh air and promenades characterise the area, from the foliage of Victoria Square to the fountain of Place Jean-Paul Riopelle, while the restaurants along Rue Saint-Antonie Ouest and Metro stops modeled in the Parisian style give off European glamour.
