Service was good and the meal was quite good with the exception of a veal tartare in a seaweed cone. Huge let down, Meat was chewy and the seaweed wrap was a disaster. Everything else was very tasty. Foie gras poutine, carpaccio, Jaret and risotto. All delicious. Pouding chomeur was perfect.

First time at the restaurant, tried the food truck a few times before. For meat lovers. Tried the sunday brunch (they do it a few times a year). Wow, what a meal. The food keeps on coming. I was full and we where still in the appetizers courses. Well worth the price. I will not spoil the fun and reveal... More

Busy and vibrant restaurant serving tasty and unusual pork from head to tail. Rustic and refined dishes are cooked in view behind the bar and chirpy staff weave between the tight tables serving ample dishes. Great atmosphere.

Fantastic meal! Highlights included the chicken nuggets, poutine, carpaccio and duck-in-a-can! Will definitely return on my next visit to Montreal!

I have been to Au pied de cochon multiple times during the last decade. I also lived just across the street. Literally seeing it from my bedroom... I remember the first time I went very well. The cromesquis explosion, the service, the wine. An atmosphere, authentic dishes... A place were locals would bring their visiting friends. I had family coming... More

I loved this place. Food quality was very good and the menu did not lack for creative dishes. Very good wine list. Service was top notch, especially Flo. Will definitely be back next time in Montreal

When I was planning out our dinners for the trip, Au Pied de Cochon was #1 on my list thanks to a recommendation from friends and everything I had read about the chef Martin Picard and the restaurant itself. (After visiting in 2001, Anthony Bourdain called it "one of my favorite restaurants on the planet and Picard one of my... More

Very busy restaurant, but worth it to get there and have the foie gras. Ever since I was introduced to this place by a friend, no Montreal trip is complete without it.

A party of three went to this place that had been recommended by a friend of mine. Service was slow and sloppy: we have to ask for napkins and for the spoons for the onion soup. The onion soup was almost like brine, had potential but was ruined by excess salt, fortunately the busboy kept coming with the water. Not... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
